  1. Micman you wont need thermals, im sure your match race with Michael Max will warm us all up
  2. The meeting will also be the first raced under floodlights at Ashfield, certainly in the present day period. Craig McCurdy posted this on easytiger on Tuesday night - "I am pleased to confirm that the floodlight trial went exceptionally well at Ashfield tonight. Courtesy of A-Plant we had three diesel operated 9m high floodlights at the track which illuminated the first and second turns. James took to the track on his mini motocross bike and was delighted, to say the least, with the conditions. We will have substantial lighting in place for Sunday afternoon and intend to have the lights on from the start of the meeting (4pm). it will mean that we can comfortably get through the meeting with the last few heats, featuring a top scorers race as a grand finale, probably raced under the floodlights to maximum effect". So it promises to be an exciting end to a dismal season in Glasgow, aslong as the weather is kind. It should be good watching PK and Freddie in the top scorers race under floodlights in the final action of the season, thats if they get there
  3. Wolverhampton legend Peter Karlsson is the latest big name to be added to the line up, others recently agreeing to take part part in the meeting include ex Redcar rider Chris Kerr, Edinburgh captain Mathew Wethers and team mate Kalle Katajisto. The format of the meeting will be a four team tournament between Glasgow,Redcar Wolverhampton and Edinburgh select sides. Sponsorship packages available - £200 rider sponsorship - testimonial race jacket signed by the rider. 2 complimentary meeting tickets, 2 complimentary meeting programmes, drinks and buffet in A-Plant lounge, Photograph with sponsored rider. £150 heat sponsorship - 2 complimentary meeting tickets, 2 complimentary meeting programmes, drinks and buffet in A-plant lounge. contact craig_mccurdy@hotmail.co.uk or derek@glastigers.co.uk for more details. There will also be a Racenight on Saturday 2nd of October in the Iron Horse on West Nile Street, Glasgow.
  4. line up taking shape : Ty Proctor, Steve Johnston, Shane Parker, Richard Lawson, Gary Havelock, Emiliano Sanchez, Michal Makovsky, Travis McGowan, Josh Grajczonek, William Lawson, Joe Screen, Andrew Tully and Ryan Fisher.
  5. Despite James returning to Redcar for the rest of the season, the 20 year testimonial meeting will still be held at Glasgow, on the 24th of October.
  6. the one and only SUPER STEVE LAWSON has agreed to slide the bike at the meeting. its gona be cold so im wondering if the famous duffel coat will also make an appearance
  7. james now has a facebook page for the testimonial. we couldnt think of a good title for the page so its just called JAMES GRIEVES TESTIMONIAL 2010 everybody welcome to join.
  8. a few big names being added to the field this week, all will be revealed very very soon
  9. edinburgh could always run it by the BSPA if they have any issues
  10. yes a very 'strange' decision to move a challenge match to clash with this meeting. i can imagine the frustration the organisers of this meeting must feel, frustration maybe putting it mildly how many glasgow and edinburgh fans had planned to head down for this no-one knows, 150 maybe ? i wish michal and the organisers of this meeting the very best of luck, i hope its a big success
  11. SHANE PARKER confirmed today he will race in James' meeting
  12. no i disagree that its entirely the wrong question, edinburgh can obviously charge what they want but the price of entry certainly doesnt encourage non edinburgh fans to attend. if i had to persuade my other half to go aswell as bringing the two boys then its a hefty price to see the 7 monarchs and 2 elite league guys who are familiar faces to scottish fans, especially when you consider mcgowan screen grieves barker kennett and schlien are in glasgow 2 days later. that said i hope both meetings are a big success
  13. thats incredable when you think on it, i wonder how embra can justify that price
  14. also ment to add that Wolves' TY PROCTOR has agreed to race at the testimonial
