Sent an email chasing them up on 14 January. Again, no response. I guess they don't want my custom.

I don't really have a problem with either of these. One is the luck of the draw - typical in most sports - and the other isn't really relevant as they are separate days and separate points. A more negative thing, for me, would be a rider winning the World Championship in practice.

Copying MotoGP, who have a half-distance sprint race at the end of practice. Don't see the point, really, although it does make practice a bit more interesting. Actually, that probably IS the point.

I sent an email of 4 January, to the "club" email and the "tickets" email, asking: "I was wondering about your 10 meeting pass that you mention on your website. Can this be shared between 2 people. Would I, for example, be able to use it for both my son and myself on the same night - making that two meetings out of the 10?" EDIT - seeing your response has in"spire"d me to re-send it so let's see if I get a reply this time.

Thought I'd mention that I did this. I sent an email to the General Enquiries address, and copied in the tickets address. Never received a reply.

Well, this is a signing that has attracted interest by quite a few people - including myself. I'm not sure if I've even looked at a Workington thread before. The only time I've seen Celina Liebmann race when she was in the SGP2. She struggled in that meeting against riders who, I guess, were above Championship reserve standard. At the same time, she had no trouble beating the reserves who, presumably, were below it. It would be great to see a female rider in the sport who can compete against the men. If anyone can, she can. She's a proper rider with a good style and looks like a decent gater from the couple of races I watched on Youtube.

For a short period of time, Swindon used to have local bands playing on the greyhound track by the starting gate during the interval. I thought it was a shame that they didn't keep that up. I liked it.

I think they might have worried that if they CL team wasn't called The Cheetahs people might desert it for the PL team. Nicknames can mean a lot, don't you agree Toady?

It's not that it stops me going - it's just that I'm looking for Oxford to in"spire" me (see what I did there) to get me along. Oxford Rebels would have inspired me. It takes a lot to get me into a speedway stadium these days. I kind of want to support Oxford (I was born there, after all, and it is just as easy for me to get to as Swindon is) but I'm still not feeling it, ya know! Two years it's been back, and I've been twice - once each year. Premier league might get me along more though. How about the Morris Oxford. That's a car don't you know.

I'm wondering about the 10 match pass that you can buy. Does anyone know if two people can share one pass - ie 5 matches each when going together? Might be worth getting one to be used by me and my son if it can be used this way.

It should be the Rebels. I'm adamant on that. I'm actually upset that it isn't! For some reason I think I would actually go more if it was (this possibly makes me slightly weird, but I can live with it). Opening night they could have Dag Lovaas, Lee Kilby, John Davis, and others there. Return of the Rebels. I'd love it. I'd get well nostalgic. Missed opportunity I reckon. Somebody should start a petition. I'd sign it. "Spires" my backside. Rubbish. May as well be calling them the Oxford "Corn Dollies" or the Oxford "New Theatres".

Surely this will be more succesful if the same core riders - maybe the top 4 or 5 from championship - are in both teams. Imagine if, say, Sam Masters is at number one for the Cheetahs one week, then turns up riding against the Spires a week later and celebrating a last heat decider win, or getting excluded for knocking off and injuring an Oxford rider. Then he's back for the Cheetahs a week later. It would be a bit strange to say the least.

Exactly. I made that point earlier when I said Theale is pretty much Tilehurst. That is why the "within 45 minutes of Swindon" thing is so bizarre.

Not if it's in Cheltnham I won't. I will if it's in Theale though.
