    Birmingham vs Oxford 20/7/22 (CJL)

No excuse. No dust at Oxford at Tuesday - which was actually held ON the hottest day of the year, not the day after - until around Heat 13.

    Oxford Cheetah Cubs 2022

Second Chargers crowd was in half term week and was nearer 1000 than 500. In any case, it was several hundred higher than the first Chargers meeting and the Oxford promotion were extremely pleased by the size of the crowd.
  3. Where did you get that from? The BYC wasn't covered, since the Scunny stream is done by a young and enthusiastic group of lads, some of which had college, etc, to go to today and it takes significant time for them to pack up the gear.
  4. Aaron Summers cannot guest for Jordan Palin - it doesn't fit. If Summers guests for Jake, then R/R would have been used for Jordan, and only Wright, Kennedy and Coles would be able to take the rides.

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022

    No meeting on the 8th.

    Oxford vs Glasgow 22nd June

That's not too unreasonable. At Oxford, it's free parking and a free shuttle bus.

    Oxford vs Glasgow 22nd June

If Carlsberg did speedway meetings... Epic night of racing last night! What a meeting! Glasgow played their full part in proceedings, but so glad Oxford managed to win it at the end!

    Oxford vs Glasgow 22nd June

Sneaky? It's advertised in advance. I think you'll find it's free to park at Oxford, with a free shuttle bus. Is if free parking at Glasgow? I hear someone say it's a fiver, but I can't believe it's that much.

    Killing the sport

Typical BSF negativity. Great 2022 season so far, with most clubs doing good business. Thank goodness those on here are not reflective of those enjoying their speedway on the terraces.
  10. Why? He's ambitious and wanted to see how he would fare against Bowtell. Brilliant display from both reserves last night.

    Glasgow v Scunthorpe 12th June 2023

Streams are almost exclusively bought by away fans who cannot travel to the meeting. With, for example. 100 watching, that's £1200 per meeting of extra income. If you're spending over £1200 per meeting on the production of the stream, then you're doing something wrong.

    Glasgow v Scunthorpe 12th June 2023

Are I right in thinking Glasgow are not streaming the meeting this afternoon? No updates from Glasgow's twitter since Friday afternoon.
  13. Sensible decision, as per Scunthorpe v Newcastle and Leicester v Berwick as well, but prepare for someone to turn up tonight, who hasn't checked all day to see whether it was still on or not, and complain that they weren't personally notified

    Oxford Cheetah Cubs 2022

Just to confirm that Henry was a guest today, which is allowed since he is still part of Plymouth's 1-7.
  15. The irony of this coming from you.
  16. It always says expected, Mr Troll! For the simple reason some of those riders are in action tonight. Something could always happen (hopefully it won't).
  17. You're entitled to your opinion, but likewise we're entitled to express our opinion on your opinion, especially when it is factually incorrect (such as regarding the number of ambulances in attendance each week at the Eddie Wright Raceway).
  18. Medical cover that wasn't available. Do you ever watch the news and are you aware of the staffing crisis within the NHS, or do you spend 100% of your time stirring up trouble on here? No wonder the Leicester promotion banned you from their forum.
  19. Yeah, there were problems with the Leicester track earlier in the season. And the week directly after the blade was brought in, there were problems with large lumps of clay being thrown at the riders who didn't gate. But, fair play, to Leicester, because that was the best racing I've seen at the track last night, so that work with the blade, after they got Andy Meredith in, has ultimately paid off. Personally, I'm now much more likely to pop along later in the season when I've got a spare Saturday or two.
  20. Cracking speedway meeting that - well done Leicester on getting the track right. Utterly different track from three weeks ago, when it was dire for Leicester v Oxford.

    27/28 May - Scunny v Leicester KOC

Maybe, at this time, thoughts should be with Joe. Meanwhile, just to confirm that the Scunthorpe promotion will allow those with stamped re-admission tickets from tonight full re-entry (without additional payment) for a future Scorpions meeting at the EWR this season using their tickets. This is a goodwill gesture by the club above and beyond the speedway regulations. Earlier in this season, another club took another route after a meeting was called off after two heats.

    Leicester vs Mildenhall 21/5/22 7:00pm

On the raised first bend viewing, it was noticeable that Ward drifted wide after lifting, and caused the other two to clash. The report on the Leicester website confirms that it was: "an ugly collision involving the three remaining riders on the second bend, resulting in Josh Warren and the Cubs’ Vinnie Foord going heavily into the fence." I was struggling to see how Ward had not been excluded for it, along with everyone else around me, and then Ward (who IMO should not still have been in the race) tried a daft last bend lunge up the inside of Warren in the second re-run and put Warren out of the rest of the meeting. Of course, these are young lads and nothing was on purpose, but it was very hard not to feel sympathy for Mildenhall, who lost because a key rider (their better reserve) was taken out of the meeting by a Leicester rider, who shouldn't have even been in the race at that point!

    Leicester vs Mildenhall 21/5/22 7:00pm

Watched from the first bend, where you've above the action and have a good view. Ward clearly lifted out of the second bend, badly lost control, and caused Warren and Foord to fall. He was the sole cause of the stoppage - yet it was somehow called as "an unsatisfactory start". As I said I was there as a neutral, but felt for Mildenhall, when the incident that really cost them tonight (the withdrawal of Warren) was caused by a rider who shouldn't even been in the race at that point. Very perplexed spectators on the terraces.

    Leicester vs Mildenhall 21/5/22 7:00pm

Meeting decided when Ward twice knocked off Warren in Heat 2 - the second time, causing an injury that forced Warren to withdraw from the meeting. Not sure how it can be an unsatisfactory start when one rider loses control coming out of the second bend and causes the other two to fall. Had the ref made the correct decision there, then Ward wouldn't have been in a position to again upend Warren in the second re-run of the race. Mildenhall very unlucky tonight. Decent enough meeting - quite enjoyed it as a neutral, even with the bizarre refereeing.
