Farewell Brandon - A Video Fly By
packerman replied to SpeedwayTShirts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Great video of the old lady in a sad state, was this done after the recent fire? The only time I went to Brandon was the Play Off final Poole lost and was disappointed about how poor the track was that night having seen better meeting previously. Even so still sad all the same -
I wouldn't want to force the person i detest the most in the world to be forced to watch England
-
Another track you never want to hear is "Here Comes the Rain Again" by The Eurythmics
-
Mainly rubbish from Simon Bloody Cowell or that idiot Louis Walsh.
-
While Peter Prinsloo was lying injured on the track at Poole they kept playing ABBA's "One of US". This included the lyrics "One of us is Dying"
-
"Fanfare for the Common Man" is something I remember at Poole from a number of years ago, Also "The Heat is on" was big in the late 80's
-
we were awful & looked like they couldn't wait to get home, to then go abroad again to holiday with their W.A.G.S!
-
Poole & Wimbledon had Craig Boyce, Leigh Adams & Todd Wiltshire from the old National League days of the 80's
-
Richie Owen rode for the Gunners

I was on about another team that closed after winning a league. I wasn't referring to Reading. Well done to the Robin's and good luck with the new stadium build as I quite like my occasional visits to the Abbey That is the team I was on about. A great team with the Owen brother's

Other than the riders do the assets include any trophies the club hold?
-
From a few years earlier I remember a Roland Tebbs riding for Boro at Poole in 86. Didn't look too steady on a bike that night, If he rode in the 85 fixture I missed it as that meeting was extremely wet

The idea here is to put down the 1-7 of the team you follow that was the worst that was on track over a season. We all have a team that really was shocking. My team is the Poole side from 1982 the first year I started following the sport at 13 years of age. Scott Autrey, Vaclav Verner, John Davis, Peter Prinsloo, Danny Kennedy, Neil Middleditch & Mikael Blixt/Erik Stenlund. Apparently 6 of the 7 rode in 1981 and looked pretty good unfortunately they only won 3 fixtures in the BL. To make matters worse I missed the wins over Coventry and Halifax.

Not being nasty here but it would not be the first time where the league champions are not running the next season. (I do believe you will beat Wolves now)

Poole Vs Rye House Thurs 10/8/17
packerman replied to lisa-colette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thank Christ I was at work for this diabolical performance -
I'd say partly down to Rye being tight and tricky but in Poland on the larger track it might of been easier on his injuries but still leave a sour taste to it all the same.
-
As I said the worst team that you followed and this was it even 2009 wasn't as bad! I knew I missed one and should of known better as Kevin was such a nice man as I pestered him relentlessly for autographs when he beat the track record in 1985, sorry Kevin. I used the Poole website for Blixt & Stenlund as I said I was 13 at the time.

The day our season went down the toilet was against Eastbourne when we lost Peter Prinsloo in a nasty crash and then the stadium floodlights kept going out. Peter Ellams got a high score that night of something like 8+3 and we thumped the Eagles. Got home something like 11:00 that night because of the delays The day our season went down the toilet was against Eastbourne when we lost Peter Prinsloo in a nasty crash and then the stadium floodlights kept going out. It's been chucking it down in Creekmoor for the last 15 minutes with Hail as well. 2 hours to get the track put in good order. -
Team And Riders, Points Changeover ?
packerman replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole is looking good as Kyle Newman hasn't raced a league meeting so we will be struggling to redeclare our line up as he has still ridden zero meetings and not the 1 home and 3 away that Lewis Kerr has
