    Rye House 2018

I see the SGB website has chosen not to make any mention of this and have immediately taken the link off the Premiership clubs links. Guilt do we think!
  2. Good to see the British Speedway Prevention Association up to their crazy antics again. Whatever the rights and wrongs of what has been done, the upshot of this is that British Speedway, an already labouring animal, looks in danger of losing one of the best tracks it has once and for all. With the proximity of houses near the EOES, who have already made complaints regarding noise levels, I fear that if it was lost to the sport this year the chances of its return would be slim. This would be a great shame and something that with some sensibility could be avoided. Are we trying to drive a wedge into more top line riders participating in the sport in Britain. We already have a very watered down league where 90% of the worlds top riders do not want to compete. We are looking at a debacle of a relegation/promotion play off where the two participating teams share riders and we already know that of those top riders who still turn up week in/week out in the UK have said that without a regular night in the week, this participation would be in doubt, therefore leading to a further weakened league structure. Do we really want to continue to push bright prospects and established "stars" away from the UK, and force one of the few decent tracks out into the wilderness. Surely the BSPA should be looking to reach a conclusion that involves a slapped wrist but does not jepordise the future. It is no wonder that people are turning away from the sport.

    Peterborough Panthers 2016

I think the main problem the BSPA management committee have with the proposed change is it is not Poole who are proposing it! If that had been the case it would have sailed through. A stunning piece of theory by the BSPA this that I and most others judging by comments find ridiculous. Speedway in general is a sport that is struggling on many levels, especially getting people through the door to make financially viable for promotors up and down the country. The BSPA know this, so what is the best course of action - to block the signing of a rider who would potentially add to gates wherever he and his team ride. Now, one of the men who saved the Panthers and stopped one of the best race strips in the UK disappearing is considering his future due to this, which could possibly have serious implications for the future of the sport in Peterborough again. The BSPA clearly have little interest in protecting the sport and the rest of speedway in the UK should breakaway and form a proper governing body with positive ideals for the future of the sport.
  5. Surely, the yellow helmet on Saturday night should have been taken by the top placed rider, not already in the Super Prix. It seemed unfair to me that Nicki P was given the ride when in four attempts he had not made the grade. In my eyes, he was awarded $15000.00 (US) for not qualifying and then not even getting past the start.

    British Speedway Gp 2008

I stay in the Angel, which means although quite expensive, i can make it to the bar within 2 minutes of exiting the stadium. Its also a major benefit when its lashing down outside like this year. Did however, feel a bit sorry for the wedding couple who in 2006 chose GP night to have a wedding recption in the hotel. There was a bit of turmoil around the chocolate fountain when the speedway mob returned after the final heat!

Yes. Thats what they led me to believe, its on 28th, although obviously this has not been officially confirmed. However, this is how it happened last year, and they were correct then!

    British Speedway Gp 2008

I always book the same hotel and they hold a booking and confirm the date when they know. They phoned on Wednesday and we now have a booking for the 28th June 2008.
  9. For the past few years there has been a stub on the ticket to get a programme, but nothing on this years tickets and no mention anywhere that i have seen. Anyone out there know whats happening this year?
  10. Is there a provsional re-run date for this event should the rain intervene (as looks likely according to local forecasts)? Super7 website suggests that in the event of a rain off, tickets can be used at other events, so no re-run!
  11. The hotels in Cardiff know the dates well in advance. I have had m room booked since the day afer the 2006 GP.
  12. It was 50/50 in my opinion and the conditions played a partt, however Scotty seems to have become obsessed with Hans and i wonder how he would have faired had he not had the red mist descending knowing Hans was in his semi.
  13. An early call for the wild card to be Hans Andersen. Cant really think of anyone else myself. Any suggestions?
