  1. Did you write Robert Miskowiak's name in all by yourself or have you pirated'n'pasted someone else's mistakes again?
  2. Is it? Or is it that once my lunch half hour at work is over I get on and work for a living...???
  3. Just when a team needs its supporters...disgraceful if that indeed happens. As has been said "you only sing when you're winning" eh? As a fan of the earlier years, you may be interested to know that special guest for Monday night will be a member of the team that swept all before it in the "Div 2 / NNL" all conquering team - Ricky Day! I suspect you know the answer to that question - decked out with claret and blue balloons yesterday (were Villa at home by any chance) - will have to see if they can do the same with red and yellow balloons on Monday,
  4. One of them now plays for Manchester City... nailed on to win the Premier League if you ask me. (mind you, Moses, playing for West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United didn't exactly part any seas did he?)
  5. Hells bells...good job most of you aren't rugby fans innit? Actually, maybe some of you ought to get into rugby a bit more, you'd be a lot more chilled out at the sight of a bit of "handbags" instead of flying into all shapes of tizwas's over them.
  6. A little bit of unnecessary "trash riding" by the pair of them. No way would an outback Aussie ever give in to strong arm tactics off Freddie. Anyway, I think they've put their handbags away for now. Roll on next week.
  7. Classic words of wisdom from the persona formerly known as "NKI Racing Troll"
  8. Don't you just love the way that the referee agrees with Sam Ermolenko's analysis? SkySports calling the shots again?
  9. Excellent state of affairs then...so Andrew Tully who doesn't have an EL ride could end up "being presented with" an EL winner medal for all his efforts in the EL during the season. Will he have to hand it back afterwards to a Jim Bowen lookalike to the words of "have a look at what you could have won"?
  10. Torun have the best stadium, and host an SGP...How much do you tarnish your most prestige product?...How embarrassing would it be for Polish speedway in the worlds eyes to say, "Welcome to Torun, our Liga I or Liga II club"? Just how much credibility has Scottish football lost since Rangers were demoted to the bottom of the league structure? Kicking Torun out of the Extraliga will do the same. Only problem is that it will also be equally much deserved, right and proper. "Justice" and "Realpolitik" may be at odds with each other over this one...glad I'm not an arbitrator.
  11. Non-contracted riders get "League Winners" medals?
  12. More Tippex required for your programmes tomorrow folks...(assuming that CVS has enough of them printed this time, remembering previous visits by the Brummies) Josh Auty picked up a wrist injury in the PLRC and will be replaced by Andrew Tully Makes life interesting doesn't it?
  13. Christianity has Jesus Christ Islam has Mohammed Torun have Tomasz Gollob and they think that he is in that class too, and without him a meeting is not worthy of being held. Shame on you Torun.
  14. Ahhh, I see...the transfer deadline has passed. So you can't sign anyone as a "loanee"...but you can have someone as a "permaguest". Anyway, I hope he's not banking on his 11th ride coming his way...
  15. So when he wakes up in his Stockholm hotel tomorrow NKI will fly back to his bedsit in Peterborough instead of heading back to his family in Denmark? Maybe during Kings Lynn' s season you might have had a point. Now the season is over, why should he?
  16. Another wind-up post. Foreverblue has correctly described the situation. When it comes to NKI though, why/how would he be motivated to get out of bed to help out the Wolves? His season is almost over. He can be at home with his feet up with just one more SEC & SGP to go. Why should he be bothered to fly himself and his mechanics to the UK, digging his bikes out of storage and fight his way through the traffic for the sake of 4-5 races more... ?
  17. Announced that Tai will go under the knife again, so it will have to be a guest on Monday. Best wishes to Tai, his surgeons, and his precision welding team on getting the metalwork repaired and wound healed in time for Torun. Bjerre Iversen or Zagar OUGHT to be the choices for guests...but who amongst them will still have bikes in a raceable state in this country and "be available" (i.e. want to fly in for all the hassle) what's the betting Scotty Nicholls comes in as guest?
  18. I wonder what state Woffy will be in on Monday?
  19. Is that really so surprising? After the success of BBC Radio WM's coverage of Midlands speedway (and look what happened there) if memory serves me correctly, Radio 5Live were due to provide coverage of the 2012 play-offs...until the fixtures were re-arranged, as is the way with speedway... so that they fell on nights when other things took priority. Bear in mind also the famous tale of BBC Radio reporters being ejected mid-meeting from the Norfolk Area when covering a Kings Lynn v Brummies meeting. Are you really surprised that the BBC isn't bothered about speedway?

    Elite League 2014

I say to you today, my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the British Speedway’s dream. I have a dream that one day this sport will rise up, live out the true meaning of justice. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all teams are created equal according to the points limits. I have a dream that one day on the red teak table of the BSPA Board Room, promoters of the favoured teams and the promoters of less favoured teams will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream I have a dream that one day even the shales of Manchester, a track sweltering with the heat of a dust bowl, will be transformed into an oasis of prosperity for Team GB. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the failure of their heroes but by the content of the trophy cabinet. I have a dream I have a dream that one day in Poole, with it’s vicious promotional antics, with its team manager having his lips dripping with the words of Darcy Ward’s justification, one day right there in Poole little Robins fans and Bees fans will be able to join hands with little Pirates fans as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today . . . I have a dream that one day every team shall be exalted, every financial worry will be made low. The rough tracks wild be made smooth, and the crooked promoters will be made straight. And the glory of the Lord shall be real and all flesh shall see it together. This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to Perry Barr with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our sport into a beautiful symphony of sportsmanship. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go through the turnstiles together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day. I have a dream.

    Season Tickets

Birmingham will have a problem convincing anyone to buy season tickets next year. Just with the 10% off the admission prices by buying tickets over the phone alone, the total outlay for the season will be less than the cost of the season ticket, then add to that the savings from the discount schemes and the 2013 season ticket holder can consider themselves to have been well and truly shafted. It's a situation that's been created out of necessity and to their credit, it's a problem that the management know about, but what the solution will be remains to be seen.
  22. Where would all these British riders come from? There are 16 British riders presently in the Elite League. A quarter of those ride for the Brummies, 3 more ride for Swindon with the rest distributed to the other teams, 6 of which don't meet the criteria. Someone who is keen to see this happen, please supply a list of 9 British riders of suitable quality, who aren't already on the EL GSA's to make up the numbers for the other teams. And while you are at it, please list out the 9 current riders who you would replace. These would need to be: 1 rider at Belle Vue (currently only 1 Brit) 2 riders at Eastbourne (currently no Brits) 1 rider at Kings Lynn (currently only 1 Brit) 2 riders at Peterborough (currently no Brits) 2 riders at Poole (currently no Brits) 1 rider at Wolverhampton (currently only 1 Brit) Birmingham, Coventry, Swindon and Lakeside have at least 2 Brits each already.

    Tactical Rides

Is it fair that teams like Eastbourne and Lakeside (both play-off contenders in recent years) have big home track advantages and others like Birmingham have tracks that are fair to all? The principle applies just as well to the PL where Edinburgh have a big home track advantage and Somerset have a fair track. Life just ain't fair sometimes. Live with it.

    Tactical Rides

Not if the alternative when you are 12 points behind after 5 heats at Trick Track Central and the only other thought in your head is "shall we make an early start on our journey home" As for dumping the TR in play-off's, shall we also dump home track advantages and have all the meetings at neutral venues? Dumping the TR's will play right into the hands of the teams with the biggest home track advantages.
