Always enjoy the streams from Scunthorpe. Racing is generally always good and what the commentary lacks in slickness it’s more than made up for with enthusiasm.

16 rider individual, semi final and a final so 22 heats in total. Really good line up. Full details on BSN -
I believe 8 cans leads to a rolling average.
-
Is this an actual 4.1 or an assessed 4.1?
-
TJ needs an operation, no guarantee he rides this year at all according to Jamie last night.
-
The fact Redcar ride on a Friday was a factor , due to his Polish commitments on a Sunday.
-
To be fair, it wasn’t mentioned that any rider had done that (inflated their demands in the circumstances), more that Redcar have a budget and stick to it. Jamie said they had considered a few riders (some with higher averages) but felt Jonas was the one to have the potential to be higher as the season goes on.
-
Jonas Knudsen confirmed. Pretty happy with that really in the circumstances, a young rider with potential to improve who rides the track well (he said it was one of his favourite tracks). Looking forward to hopefully seeing him progress. Some interesting points on riders pricing themselves out of places and the points limit.
-
It’s changed to 7pm now.
-
Not a lot of riders to chose from who would bring us closer to the limit really. Could try and get someone on an assessed average in the hope that they improve on that. As for Jonas Knudsen he did seem to like the Redcar track so could be an option.
-
Leon Flint would fit….
-
6.89 left I think. TJ was 6.39 and we were 0.50 under the limit. Not sure who is available at this late stage, tough blow for the team and TJ.

SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings
Yearbyred replied to bloom89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I’m not saying she’s going to be great or maintain her average, but the narrative that she’s depriving a male rider of a team place to the detriment of the sport, I don’t agree with. -
SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings

Just checked Liebmanns times when she rode some races against Katie Gordon at Redcar last year. 57.6 58.1 57.5 58.0 Ashton Boughen won the 500 cc event that day and his times were (2 wins) 56.6 58.2 Maybe she just couldn’t work out how to ride Edinburgh on her first visit? Not uncommon. -
Looks a pretty well balanced team this year. Hopefully a better year for Bandits fans.

Championship Predictions 2024

While I’m happy with Redcars team and think they will finish in the playoffs, I would be surprised if they finished top. Say the same thing every season that visiting teams enjoy riding at Redcar too much to make us favourites for anything. Think it’s a pretty even league with only Plymouth looking significantly weaker than the rest. -
Well done to the Comets, putting a very interesting team together and the introduction of a female rider into the league will give the team (and the sport in general) a publicity boost.
-
Its normally a 2 minute warning, not 2 hours! Been a long wait for Comets fans, feel the lack of even a statement from the club these last few weeks has added to the uncertainty (just an outsiders view). Hopefully a competitive team can still be sorted.
-
Thats fair enough, already think the team looks better than last years. All teams need to be competitive at home, very dispiriting to lose a few home matches.
-
I think he said he wanted to keep his Saturdays free for travel, if he got any rides in Poland.
-
Comment from Connor Bailey when he was announced for Redcar tonight is that Workington riding on a Saturday was one of the reasons he chose Redcar.
-
Trigger happy they call it! You did a good job to be fair
