  1. Think those changes have more of an impact on Redcar than Glasgow, but can’t blame Charles for taking the Polish offer.

    Championship Pairs - Sep 1st

People aren’t getting stressed, 1 person is. Can’t please everyone.

    Championship Pairs - Sep 1st

Well done to Glasgow - well deserved on the night, they were the best pairing overall. Great effort from Charles and Danny. Good meeting after a slow start.

    Championship Pairs - Sep 1st

If the teams rode against each other then the winners of that heat would go through (which is fairer than a coin toss?) Redcar and Oxford didn’t race again each other so it was a coin toss. Seems fair enough to me.

    Championship Pairs - Sep 1st

Well they couldn’t use the same rule could they, so I’m not sure what you expect them to do?

    CLRC

Was at the track so haven’t seen any replays of the Wright incidents. Think the fact that both were on the first/second bend of the opening lap saved him. Ref made the calls, not Charles. Decent meeting given the weather we have had and track rode pretty well. Credit to Ben Cook and Chris Harris who were great all night. Well done Charles.

Nicholls and Howarth out now. Replaced by Thomson and Castagna. Real shame about the drop outs but still plenty of good riders around Redcar to make it worth watching.

    Glasgow 2023

In theory, any club in this league with an assessed 5 pointer could have made this move. In reality, only a few could afford to do it.

    Glasgow 2023

Anyone know if Tarasenko is available for the Championship riders final on Sunday….

    Glasgow 2023

Agreed it’s the rule that’s at fault, not Glasgow for exploiting it. Although my comment on getting a financial package together still applies, not many Championship teams could do it.

    Glasgow 2023

Obviously a cracking signing for Glasgow which strengthens them a hell of a lot. Genuinely no idea how he fits average wise and it’s certainly not a like for like swap with a team already over the limit on current averages, but it’s speedway so shouldn’t be surprised. Should make the play offs closer for the 3 teams with the financial clout to compete against each other.
  12. Redcar have picked up a couple of decent guests for this meeting by the looks of it.
  13. Shame about the drop outs already, all good riders around Redcar who would have had a chance at winning. Still should be a decent meeting though.
  14. What are you on about? The race was stopped on a 4-2 (although Charles was very close to passing Sedgmen, hence why it wasn’t awarded) and the re-run was a 4-2 to Brum? Birmingham did well but were greatly improved by having Lawson at 1 instead of Morris (16 for Lawson, Morris scored 2 here last time). Sedgmen had a typical meeting at Redcar and I thought Starke did well (as he should at Reserve). Solid enough from the Bears top 5 but the reserves were heavily outscored. Need to improve for the play offs. Some decent, fast racing on a well prepared track.

Poole Pirates Vs Redcar Bears 16/8

Think it was just a good gate actually. Didn’t move until the tapes started to go up. If this was one of the many “massive rollers” that the opposition seem to get away with every week (according to some) then we might have to disregard that posters comments. Good ride from the Cooks though (albeit it was Danyon)

Poole Pirates Vs Redcar Bears 16/8

R/R scored 5 so you would hope Charles would have scored more. Still think Pirates would have won but certainly could have been a lot closer. Sounds like a decent meeting, Poole are very strong at home.

Poole Pirates Vs Redcar Bears 16/8

If the Bears keep it within 10 they will have done well.

    Plymouth v Redcar

On the BSN coverage Worrall blamed Trigger for the incident because (and I quote) “he sh*t himself and didn’t go round the outside” Probably knew that the Redcar fans still call you Right Turn Richie.

    Plymouth v Redcar

Gavin Parr said they had tried everyone over 7 points as a guest but couldn’t find one (yet). Even said he was hoping Charles might declare himself fit. Looks like it’ll be R/R again.

    Plymouth v Redcar

Good effort from the lads tonight, everyone chipped in at some point and great to see Erik scoring well (although the track was perfect for him, gate and it was very difficult to pass) Hope Barker is ok after that nasty looking fall. Not sure R/R will be as effective tomorrow night though.

    Plymouth v Redcar

Whoosh. Maybe I should have added a wink emoji, but I assumed people wouldn’t take it seriously.

    Plymouth v Redcar

Sounds like they tried to get a guest but were unsuccessful at such short notice. Probably try and get one of the Poole lads to guest tomorrow night..

    Plymouth v Redcar

Charles injury (and the fact it’s R/R and not a guest) is a massive blow to the Bears chances.
  24. Yes, watched the stream and thought it was a decent meeting, particularly early on as it got a bit gate and go the last few heats. Pickering as entertaining as ever, brilliant double pass in his second ride. Hagon started brightly and looks a good prospect. Edwards star man for the Bears and everyone (except Harrison) scored points, although very inconsistently in most cases. Hume had a good meeting too. Decent stream - the commentary was better than the camera work I’d say though.
