  1. Last night Morley took a extra reserve ride in Ht14 meaning the other reserve only got 3 rides. We had already done enough to win the match and looks hard on Edwards, but if we dropped a 4-2 in that race and a 5-1 in the last which was possible Poole would have snatched a vital bonus point. Correct decision by the manager who is judged on results, not sure if Atkins would have seen it that way if he had been involved.

Spot on. It's so simple. All points count. Winner of the final gets 20 points regardless.

It is a simple solution and solves everything by making winning the meeting the ultimate goal without undermining the heats.

Agreed, but with the proviso that you would get all 21pts if you were to win all 7 races.
How about an extra point for fastest time of the night

what about Vaculik - he got his 4th nomination within 5 years (same as Harris, Nicholls, Lindgren in the past) - he was injured this year, but probably wouldn't have reached the top 6 anyway

but if you cannot get a place in the top 6 (or 8) more than once within 5 years are you stll rated as a world championship challenger??

Strange one Lindgren, top 3 or 4 regularly now , but a few years people were moaning he had too many chances. Not my favourite rider but always seem to be in the mix these days.

In the absence of a thread for Plymouth v Leicester match, which has now finished, it seems reasonable to post comments here.

Not being present tonight, I wondered how good the racing was from an entertainment perspective? Going back to watching Leicester at the old Blackbird Road track, the novelty of good racing and narrow home defeats wore thin pretty quickly. Smug as it may sound, the management's decision to go for a very top heavy team appears to have predictively backfired already. Plymouth's entreprenural approach has to be applauded but it would appear that a major team review is required, particularly as Crump is not recovering from knocks so easily these days. Altough they appear not to be weakened by the choice of guests that have covered for him, the situation  is clearly not sustainable.

Putting my Lions hat back on, a great response after being overturned by those pesky Pirates at the weekend.

Big blow for Gladiators at the start of the season with Henry Atkins getting injured, should have been good for at least 3 or 4 at home which would have turned narrow defeats into narrow wins. Still would have struggled away. Ruddick and Smith are just not scoring.
