    Plymouth 2015

Don't take much to confuse you to be fair, i'm sure there not happy your confused.
  2. I wonder what his school reports said, TRY HARDER. Didn't he have a short spell has Ipswich no 1 a few season ago.
  3. Not talking about 2015, talking about last year, when Somerset released him. When Australian riders first started to come over they didn't seem like they were taking over, go back six or seven years, and see how many were coming over, now look last year in the British league, and see now how many are trying to come over, the likes of Doyle and Ward do raise the standard of the British Speedway league, but riders like Campton, Sedgeman, Poole and Tod Kurtz are just taking up space, at best two of them are reserve standard, and the other two are second string. The reason you don't see many Indians in County cricket in this country is because they have there own Super league in India. Fair comment, but don't put all the blame on the league not having enough British on them, they have been rubbished on for years by the league, the reason the league is in a shambles now, is wholly down to the people that run the league.
  4. I don't think so, Kyle Newman was dropped by Somerset, and I think he is the best rider we have signed.
  5. The two riders mentioned are better than Benko, that's what I ment when I said we missed a trick, I would rather have a British lad in the team, than any of them, but its never going to happen, when the club wont even look, and go for riders other clubs don't want, we are waiting now on a rider that has never been on a British track, good thinking. how many Australians were in the British league ten years ago, you only have be able to ride a bike, and be Australian now, and you get a ride in the British league
  6. I agree the talent in this Country at the moment is not there, but you have to say why is that, and in my opinion most of it is down to the clubs in the British league, its all of there making, they don't give a toss where the rider comes from, Plymouth included, if they did they would have gave the reserve spot to a British lad, instead of Roland Benko, and most of the supporters would have agreed with it. British riders because they were not guaranteed a place in a team, had to find jobs, when I talked to Kyle Hughes when he was riding for Plymouth, he had a full time job, coming down to Plymouth, its was a second job, now if like most British lads, also have a full time job, asking them to ride full time in the British league, it has to be worth there while doing it, if a rider gets injured during the year, and most do, and has a full time job, and will have to be off work, they will lose money, so I can understand them asking for more than most, but I have to agree that the amount of Aussie riders that the league will lose cannot be replaced wholly by British riders, the blame for that is with the teams in the league.
  7. They may not be the better option, but you cant blame them for the situation, that the league is in now, maybe if the league had put British riders first in a British league, we would not be in the mess that we are going to be in now, not all British riders are a bad option, I can think of a few I have watched at Plymouth that I would say in my opinion, were far worse then a lot British lads, I have watched, and I bet they were not cheap.
  8. One thing for sure is we will get a better quality of Australia rider coming into the league, and they will give 100% until the end of the season, not like some who when there team don't get into the play-offs, they try to get there average down so they can get a place for another team the next season.
  9. And who is the blame for that, when you have a league where it is mostly filled with none British riders, because the clubs in that league would rather have none British riders, the league can only blame themselves, its been said for years that the league employs to many, its about time clubs woke up to this, and started thinking about signing riders that live in this Country, and that don't include rubbish from Europe, I would rather watch a British lad trying, and not making it, than a rider from Europe doing the same, we might be in Europe, but its a British league. Spot on.
  10. Good post and I agree, why have they took so long in doing so, for me because we have let more and more riders from Australia come into the British league, we are in the mess we are now, people have been talking for years that we have to many in it, and its the main reason we see less British riders in Speedway, but now its finally been clamped down on, just a little to late I think, if it had been done a few years ago, maybe not so many British riders would have packed in. Its a good job India are not into Speedway, British lads would never get a look in.
  11. I think you are right, I have a feeling this is part of the reason we are tightening up the visa laws for anyone outside the EU coming into this Country on a work permit, it could be something to do with Countries like Australia doing the same, and we are going along the same lines, I know with a few of my mates telling me, its not easy getting a work permit when thinking to go to Australia to work.
  12. If you bother to look at my post, when I said didn't Holder finish runner up in the under 21 Australian Championship, it was a question, or don't you understand that, I didn't say it was anything to do with a requirement for anything.
  13. I never said it did, I didn't say anything in my post about any visa, read it again.
  14. What and you think Somerset would not have signed Holder on a 3.00 average if they could, I think your argument looks a bit silly there, didn't Holder finish runner up in the under 21 Australian Championship.
  15. All joking aside, your right mate, the big loser will be British Speedway, lets hope they see that.
  16. Yeh I started off with one, not the same.
  17. Where in my post does it mention anything about an holiday visa, anyone with half a brain cell will know the difference, well I would hope they do, so read my post and digest it, if anyone from Britain was going to Australia on holiday for an extended period of time, they would not apply for a work visa, and if they were going there to work they would not apply for a holiday visa, if riders were coming to Britain on a holiday visa, I would think the BSPA wouldn't ok it, and any club would know that.
  18. Yeh hundreds of British lads go over when the season finished, and ride in Australia, I don't think !, this visa situation applies to all jobs where you need a visa, not just Speedway, it's just that Speedway have a bunch of muppets running it, and I wouldn't put money on any of them passing the 11plus. It wont effect any of the above, if they know what they are doing, and fill the forms in right, do you think everyone is in the same situation that speedway is in, I have a feeling they are not.

The signing of Chapman is down to the management, they will take the glory or the flak Mike, i'm not going to questing the decision, we are not sure yet if he will be allowed to ride in the PL yet, like you he would not be my choice, one average year in a bad the NL team, don't make anyone ready to go into the PL, we have had better NL riders in the team, and they have failed badly, Cockle, Rhead, Hughes, so Lee must see something in the lad the rest of us don't see.

I agree, you can get to a level, like some have, but then to go that step further like the riders you have mentioned, you have to grow a set of balls, and the likes of Lambert, Cockle, Johnson, Halsey etc, until they do, will always be a good NL riders, and a reserve in the PL at best, well one of them is.
  22. To me it looks like if a rider has a one, two, or three year visa, he has to stay with that club he has that visa with, to change to another club, during that time, then he has to apply for another visa, pain in the neck, but that's the rules when you apply for one, I cant believe the BSPA's lawyers, and the clubs lawyers didn't understand that, if they didn't then they should be looking for a new one, don't people employ lawyers for that exact reason, knowing matters of the law and like.

Having a visa wasn't my point in the post, I know the riders mentioned are EU riders, having a visa has nothing to do with any rider from Europe or Australia & New Zealand coming over and riding for clubs, when young British lads can do the job that they are doing, and maybe better, riders I mentioned I feel have had there chance, its about time clubs looked nearer home, and gave some of are British lads a go.
  24. Spot on mate, agree 100%.
