So if Freddie gets into the top eight in his own right, what happens then? -

Swindon 4tt Now 17/09
gonzo441 replied to Midland Robin's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
With the amount of grief this meeting must have caused MR, what with all the injuries the first time around and now again riders dropping out at the last minute, I'm sure he'll think twice about making this an annual event! However I too would like to thank MR and all the Swindon promotion for putting this meeting on. I know obviously Swindon stand to gain by taking the gate monies but as you have pointed out "ice" it would have been so much easier for them to wrap up thier riders in cotton wool ready for the playoffs. What a shame King's Lynn have appeared to have been so childish in preventing supporters of defunct clubs a chance to see Darcy ride the Blunsden oval just to get back at Swindon! As an aside, MR if you read this, any chance of getting Big H on the microphone for a spell tonight? (providing he's going of course) Would love to hear him announce Mmmmmmatej Zagar one more time!!!! Lets hope for a great but safe meeting for all, Cheers Gonz -

So anyone know what happened to Zagar? Gonz -
Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but was trying to book seats in our usual section L20 (lower tier bends 3/4) and none available nor any in adjacent sections. Anybody else had any difficulties? Cant believe those sections have sold out already. Any info appreciated. Gonz

Been in more or less same seats for last three years, lower teer front row, almost on apex of 3 and 4. Actually thinking of trying somewhere different next year as the PA has been awefull all three years. Cannot hear a word the announcer says nor any of the interveiws. Also difficult to hear the music, although what I did hear was prety poor. However it sounds like there isn't one reliable place where it is clear! At least the big screen was working this year which was cruicial for results when close. Last year it packed up before the racing got under way. Gonz -
British Final
gonzo441 replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Hmmm. Where did I get that from? I'm sure he was in the original list along with Bunyan as the reserves. Ok I'll change it so that both reserves are blank and then they can be filled out as and when/if. Gonz -

If you have Excel, I've thrown together a scorecard which can be found here. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ampmracing/speedway1.html Either one you can use on a laptop or an A4 printable version. -

Couple of questions, Anyone know who the second reserve will be now that Bunyan is in the main line-up? Secondly, I presume it runs to the same format as a gp, ie 5 heats each two semis and a final? Many thanks in advance, Gonz Ps, my top 4 Bridger Richardson Kennett Woffinden -
Denny Pyeatt Memorial Trophy
gonzo441 replied to Racer X's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Have to agree with everything said so far on here. Really enjoyed the meeting. Glad there seemed to be a fairly decent turn out of spectators. Lemo was very good especially as he seemed to be down to his last bike and engine! His interveiw after the final seemed to point to the fact that he wishes to remain elite league next season, can't help thinking he might end up at Belle Vue due to his location. Hougaard seemed much more acomplished at this level and boy did he ride a few others hard!! Barker was just great to watch (can't understand how everyone missed that it wasn't him going off 15m when he has a dayglow stripe down the side of his kevlars, I noticed straight away and I've only seen him ride a couple of times). Shawn McConnell was just brilliant and vfm alone with that hanging off his bike style. Stojanowski looked good enough to hold down an elite league ride, which is the same as what I thought at the tail end of last season when he rode at Poole. Filip Sitera looked class straight out the box. What do we know about this rider? Who does he ride for on the continent? Is he looking for an english team next season??? Also good showings from Mills, Schramm, Mear, Glanz and Hawkins. All in all a great meeting and despite what everyone was saying before the meeting, well worth the £13 entry fee. Wouldn't mind if Reading went PL next year, but the away meeting travelling would be a big disadvantage for me personaly, with only really Rye house being local. A big thank you to the new management team for keeping speedway alive in the Reading area. Gonz -
Where Are You Sitting?
gonzo441 replied to M08's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Was sat in the lower tier, 3/4th bend and had an amazing view and a brilliant night but the PA system there was absolutely pants. Was amazed that race results were not put up on the large screens. Having said that, I would still pay the same money for the same seats. Well done bomber, you made an awefull lot of peoples night! Gonz -
European Champ - Czech Qualifier
gonzo441 replied to Chris Brown's topic in International World of Speedway
Ah, thanks for that Iris. So presumably there were 3 Czech riders "seeded" through , Ales being one of them, and this qualifier was to determine the other three, hence the need for a run off for third place? -
European Champ - Czech Qualifier
gonzo441 replied to Chris Brown's topic in International World of Speedway
Maybe someone could enlighten me? Was this meeting a team event or an individual event. I was thinknig it was an individual event as at Reading they announced that Sam Simota had finished 2nd, but then I read in the scores that 2 riders scored bonus points?????? Secondly, how does this all stack up. Has Sam now qualified for another meeting, next round, or something, and do top riders from other countries get involved with this championship. Many thanx in advance for any information.
