    100% spot on

Except now all the forum people who wanted new blood have their wish........guess they dont want the top riders in it

It appears to me that the FIM want all of the riders to go through the WC qualifiers and to be fair if they did it would make for a better quality field and avoid this sort of scenario of riders in the series that haven’t really got a hope, Lebedevs, Huckenbeck and Kvech are well out of their depth at this level.

    Kubera the wildcard

I haven’t seen anything about the wildcard or the reserves for Torun, is it me or is the FIM GP website awful, I haven’t read anything that states Kubera is the wildcard although obviously I take your word Tim that it is him.

    Just got back in...

Crowd seemed decent, not sure how that fits against a normal one but the car park was reasonably well used..

Had to use my key to find my car...:D

Racing was pretty average to be honest but I presume track prep was dictated to by the forecast..

Interesting everyone thought King and Bomber would "love the mud", but there wasnt any, and the track was slick all night...

For the Aces, Dan was involved in four heats that saw a 12 point deficit which isn't really good enough for a top five GP rider, and you would have expected at least two wins from a rider of his talent, even if Emil may end up beating him twice. Two wins off Dan against the other Witches and the deficit could have been 12 points..

The rear end of his bike in the first race looked strange when he did a practice start on the back straight and his mechanics were waiting for him on the home straight as if they were expecting something to happen. He didn't seem to have "Polish Speed" that's for sure...

Brady, Tom and Jaimon can walk away satisfied with their contribution, the other 3 definitely not so...

The Witches were just more aggressive from Heat One and ran out deserving winners...

However, leads like they have can quickly get reduced at the NSS so not over yet...

I must admit, part of me would like to see the Aces lose overall by two, as it would mean a cracking meeting,  and Jack Smiths second tonight then would be the "difference maker"...:D

No one calling for King, Riss and Hawkins to be sacked tonight I notice...;):D

The racing was pretty non existent as it generally is at Foxhall, it was all starts and first corners, after that it was pretty much follow the leader.

Ipswich appeared to show more interest than Belle Vue and the result of the tie is all but over, biggest smile of the night was reserved for Ritchie Hawkins whose moustache made him look like a old style cowboy.

The few on here are only a small fraction of the fans attending the Showground. If Lynn sign a few  of the Panthers best riders, i can see a 2/300 out of the 1200/1400 or so making the trip over, if Lynn have a competitive team.

Your talking out of your backside, the only time you get Peterborough fans watching speedway at Lynn is when Panthers are riding there.

Your in cloud cuckoo land if you think any different.

  5. To be fair it was a shambles from start to finish

Zmarzliks disqualification was the first but then we had commentators who clearly didn’t know the rules (not for the first time) a complete failure to provide heat results and then the complete farce of Basso being awarded second then third and back to second again.

But the main gripe was the track which was as slick as a baby’s bum (not for the first time at Vojens) which was clearly overwatered at times and offered very little overtaking opportunities although managing to actually stay on the bike was apparently challenging towards the end of the meeting.

I have never been to Vojens and to be fair it’s never been high on my bucket list but really the speedway there is bloody awful and one wonders why it was packed last night because it’s pretty much the same every time.

I know cost has been mentioned but it’s crazy in a sport as dangerous as this that not everyone is tested before every meeting. It’s one thing testing in a sport like athletics where nobody can possibly get hurt, but in a sport where riders can and sometimes are, paralysed or killed it beggars belief that there’s not compulsory testing for every rider before meetings.

It’s quite expensive and clearly the SCB have a budget, sounds like it was done thoroughly and correctly, if he hasn’t taken anything illegal he has nothing to worry about.

You can never read anything from a first meeting of the season as riders are rusty. What cost us is losing 3 meetings at home.

What cost you was a bottom four that rarely scored enough points to back up a very good top three.

    You were too top heavy

Live Updates doesn't have a texter for this meeting as yet (21:30 on Sunday) - anyone prepared to volunteer?  The minimum requirement is: Ref name, Gate choice, and race results (with times if you record them) - any comments are entirely optional.  If you fancy giving it a go, please visit Live Updates and send a message to "oldcynic".  Cheers!

Of course it doesn’t have to be a Lynn supporter, I would have thought a lot of Ipswich fans will be there considering it’s important for Ipswich to win.

  9. Peterborough face Sheffield again Monday with the Tigers again missing their No 1 but on this occasion it’s Tai Woffinden missing following his crash in the British GP.

Panthers face a 6 point deficit for the aggregate point after losing the first leg 42-48 on the 17th August at Sheffield.

    Teams

Peterborough - Artem Laguta, Chris Harris, Vadim Tarasenko, Benjamin Basso, Niels K Iversen, Ben Cook, Jordan Jenkins.

Sheffield - Tai Woffinden R/R, Kyle Howarth, Chris Holder, Josh Pickering, Tobias Musielak, Claus Vissing, Jason Edwards.

  10. I am reliably informed that the comments on the AEPG Facebook page and the PCC planning applications website are causing problems for the company as pretty much all the comments are objections to the application.

A few are thinking the Facebook page will shortly be removed due to the flak they are currently getting so any help from other supporters will be greatly appreciated, it’s important because a lot is going on behind the scenes and it’s in no way a foregone conclusion that this application will be approved and even if it is it will take quite a few years to get off the ground.

Please mention in any comments the 53 year history and heritage of Peterborough Speedway and the fact that this planning application fails the PCC local plans LP30 and LP36.

PCC LP30 refers to the fact that the loss of any existing leisure and sports facilities will not be supported unless replacement facilities are provided in accordance with policy LP30.

PCC LP36 refers to the fact that no plans will be approved for more than 650 dwellings on the Showground, AEPG current plans are for 1500 dwellings.

The aim is to continue at the Showground which will give the club time to relocate if necessary without any break in speedway, at the moment AEPG won’t even agree to a meeting or talk about the likelihood at all past 2023.
