    Polish League Attendance Figures

What strikes me though was, at the elite league play-off final at Peterborough the attendance figures were being mooted as around the 6000 mark. Yet in poland that figure is considered to be average. Where does Britain go wrong?
  3. My heart says Hans Andersen. My head says Jason crump.
  4. Adult admission prices for the event, $10 ( roughly a Fiver in £'s) to see a national title. Take note British promoters!
  5. Smart little venue they've got there. Looks like a cross between Brighton and Trelawny!
  6. Oooops! so it is. Cheers.
  7. Its no different to a tennis player wanting to claim a gram slam title, they have to play on a different types of surface. Why not speedway. I would just show some riders are better on some surfaces than others.
  8. My my 21st CH, you have given this some thought. Birmingham most certainly, better for all fans (and it wouldn't have a bl**dy cold sea breeze for starters).
  9. What with all this disscussion about various venues for possible indoor speedway, there are quite a few venues dotted around the country that could house a larger track. For instance:- Hallam Arena (sheffield) M.E.N Arena (Manchester) SECC (glasgow) NEC (Birmingham) Errr... (The one in Newcastle) London Arena/Excel Centre/Alexanrda Palace (London) Not forgetting the Current indoor Venues of Brighton and Telford. Maybe Some sort of Indoor Winter Series could take place. It would give fans from all around the country to see some "out of season" speedway. The above venues also benefit from already being in cities with speedway tracks in them already.
  10. During an interview in one of the evening many breaks Jon cook was being asked about other posible venues for indoor speedway. How About this...... Taken from www.millenium-dome.com The O2 Centre Greenwich sets July 2007 opening date April 12, 2006 Owners of The O2, AEG Europe, today announced the venue was set for a July 2007 opening and revealed landmark progress in the construction programme. Sitting at the centre piece on the site of the former Millennium Dome, The O2 Arena now boasts a fully-raised roof and outline. The purpose-built street, which wraps around the complex and will contain a 2,000 capacity Live Music Club, 11 screen cinema, exhibition and theatre spaces as well as bars and restaurants, is now clearly defined. The O2 will host the Gymnastics and Basketball finals whilst in 2009, it will play host to the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The first purpose-built music venue in London since The Royal Albert Hall in 1871, The O2 Arena offers previously unavailable benefits for artists, customers and media. A flexible frame means a bespoke capacity can be set from two people to 23,000; an unprecedented 50 tonnes of equipment can be hung from its roof, whilst the main floor can be transformed to an ice rink in two hours. Consumers can enjoy wide armchair soft seating and broadcasters can take advantage of integrated, high definition broadcast capabilities when covering entertainment and sporting events. ...........ideal venue who know's? Would be easier to get to for most fans, easier parking, potientialy bigger track for better racing. Not to mention a venue with a more "glamourous stigma" about it could attract bigger names!! Wouldn't suffer overheads such as rental of a venue nearer the centre of london (Earls Court, Olimpia, Wembly arena etc etc) Maybe the more centrally located NEC in Birmingham could come into the equation?
  11. Kennett, Fisher , Kerr to win the individual. Bridger/Kennett to win the pairs.
  12. Crap format for meeting (prefer the 16 rider field myself), but the racing was superb. Good to see Davey Watt back at Rye. missed that leg trailing style of his round the 1st/2nd bends. Great to see eddie go out in style, by winning his last heat in a Rockets jacket. A rider thats virtualy grown up with the club. Best of luck in the Elite League for 2007. May the force be with you!!!
  13. No metion of Track builder/Track specialist, Mr M, Dugard I,m going
  14. Two Choices for saturday, Go to this meeting or watching "the X factor". Hmmmm..... where's me' programme board.
