    Alcohol At Cardiff

I didn't see Mr Barker involved in the ruptions, I saw him having out with the elderly gentale towards the end of the meeting, that was the issue with him from my point of view, not the fighting part.

    Alcohol At Cardiff

Tiger I am sorry if it came across that I was implying certain riders were involved in the fighting I wasn't, it was just really aimed at the way they were acting throughout the meeting and conducting themselves and making it less enjoyable for others due to the amount of alcohol consumed. I have since deleted names and that was maybe not something to do and I hold my hands up for that. As for Ben Barker I will not apologise, to sit there having an argument with and elderly gentleman was a disgrace, and then to give a load of mouth to the stewards is poor especially as this guy is seen to be one of the future british prospects. I am not objective to people having a few beers and enjoying themselves far from it, but last night in terms of alcohol was a disgrace.

    Alcohol At Cardiff

Last night was a disgrace as far as i'm concerned, I was sat in the top tier between bends 3 and 4 and ended up being stuck in the middle of a huge fight when a polish chap was set up on by anumber of people after the Nicholls/Emil handbags , and I must say the way that certain british speedway riders conducted themselves was nothing short of shocking, there was a huge group of 'fans' all their for a good time which is what we are there for but the amount of alcohol consumed by this group and then the way they acted climbing all over seats, beer being spilt left right and centre stood up all of time, just made it awful for us around. Alot of riders were involved in this group and once again after last year Ben Barker having a huge falling out with an elderly gentleman and being spoken to by stewards on numerous occaisions. Truly awful
  4. We are looking at heading over to the gp in May and the only thing putting us off is the travel between the two cities, what are my options like train is it possible to get back to wroclaw after the gp, or is it a taxi job and how much is it? It will be our first venture to poland so we are in need of much help as possible. Thanks
  5. Just to keep this thread at the top, as we all want to see Garry have another great night with people digging deep ! Any news on line up's ? I'm sure I saw on here someone mention a chap called Gollob ??????? Some rising star in Poland i've heard might make a trip over, can't see it myself but bums on seats spring to mind
  6. Evening All, Just about to leave work for the trek over to Perry Barr, just bought myself a new ultra tiny little laptop and was after a 'FREE' GP spreadsheet
  7. No problem Dave, it was actually my girlfriend who made the first comment and to be honest she isn't the biggest speedway fan in the world, and she said when filling in the programme that you made it enjoyable for her and that you had a nice voice !!!!!!!!!!! I must also point out that I wasn't a fan of Mr Bennet either !!!!!!!!
  8. Dave if you are the man in the box down at the OTA may I just say you are by a country mile the best announcer I have heard at a speedway venue for a long long time. Very articulate and informative. Top guy !
  9. I have watched a fair bit of PL racing over the last 4-5 years, I live in South Derbyshire so have had plenty of journeys up to Sheffield on Thursdays when the Panthers run on Fridays, also with Birmingham re-opening this year I only live about 35 minutes from Perry Barr. I have always followed Elite League racing, but belive me the racing in the PL is fantastic. Yes there is no Nicki, Crump, Hans et al, but the racing is just as good but with out the so called 'big name charlies' At the pairs last week I was talking to a chap who follows Plymouth in the CL, he asked me if I was an EL 'snob', my answer to him was 'if there's good racing i'll be there no matter what league', the standard of racing as said before is just as good but without the names. There are some good names down in the PL to the likes of Holder at the IOW, Wrighty, Captain Nemo and Stoney at Workington, Ully at the Brummies, Zorro and Emil Kramer at Someset the list go's on.............. One thing for certain Leanne you WILL enjoy your day on Sunday, you WILL see fantstic racing, and that's what we all go to speedway for isn't it????????? One thing for sure there are no 'big time charlies' in the PL, there all good honest racers trying to make a living and entertain us, and there is no disease called GPitis down in the PL either, if there's a meeting on the guys are there. And all this coming form an ELITE LEAGUE SNOB !
  10. Really looking forward to this meeting, made the trip over for the first one but turned around and went home. What are everyones thoughts for the meeting ? Myself would love to see my second team the 'Mercom Brummies' doing well. I think the Brummies could do well, with Ully leading the side an ex Panther of last year, Lyons who has done many laps around the EOES and Sanchez another ex Panther although I don't think he made an apperance at the Showground. IOW look strong with Holder and Bunny, but not much after that, The Stars will be up there with TT, Nermark and Bruce all doing plenty of laps around Peterborough. I think the best looking 1-4's are Somerset and Sheffield. Most teams seem to have a stong top two with nothing much after that.
  11. Never actually been to Newport just thinking about other tracks that could be used as people seem a little 50/50 over the OTA. I wasn't saying just about toilets, the whole facilities at the OTA was what I was thinking about, as most people didn't seem to impressed.
  12. I agree with you Third Man, the facilities not up to scratch at the moment, but with the new clubhouse being built on turn one hopefully next year there will be a few extra loos ! I do agree 100% with you but I went to Somerset to watch some good racing and the surface was superb the facilities aren't great but at least the racing was. Is there another track close enough to Cardiff which could be used for this event the night before the GP ? Newport maybe, even Perry Barr at a push middle of the country for everyone and good access links onto the M5. Me and the other half had a cracking day in Weston before heading to the OTA and I must admit this made a fantastic start to the weekend. JC gets a thumbs up from me on this one !
  13. Havvy is a tope bloke, was fantstic in the few years he was with the Panthers, i'll never forget about four years ago he was guesting for us at time and run a lap with his bike to pick up a point, will never forget that especially only being a guest, a true professional and great ambassador for Britsh Speedway.
  14. Must admit did fancy Havvy and Grieves at the start of the meeting, is Havvy still struggling with the injury a little or just getting back into the swing of things ?
  15. Made my first visit to the OTA on Friday night and may I say what a fantastic little place it is, great racing surface, announcer in the box was superb very articulate and informative, good to see Craig Saul there on the roaming mike just love the guys nicknames for everone! and I love the way the track is below you when on the banking. Went along to see my second team the Mercom Brummies, who with the loss of Jason Lyons really ended their hopes. Great nights racing well done to the IOW. I agree with what everyone has been saying about the Sheffield boys, I have seen alot of the Tigers and must say Ricky really has hit a wall, as an opposing rider I would think you had a very good chance of beating him in heat one and thirteen, take Somerset both Kramer and Zorro are a great top two are very capable on any track in the country. Ben Wilson is another who really needs a move away from Owlerton to further his career. On the subject of Kyle I don't think he'll be back at Sheffield, I think a move to the Elite will be on the cards, the EOES would be a great new home for him !
