Reliably informed that the Edinburgh team manager saw Sam's foot injury before the meeting @ Scunny, & it was badly swollen. Sam is very loyal to Edinburgh and found it too painful to continue during his second ride. Despite the comments by the would be "medical experts" on here, it's not unknown for the recovery process to improve sufficiently 48 hours after the injury occurred in Poland, to be able to resume racing. It also should be noted that r/r would have been the only option otherwise for Wolves tonight.

In what way have Edinburgh jumped the gun? They have publicised their proposals they are submitting and thereby making their fanbase full aware of the situation. This gives the fans the opportunity to support the application in advance, be it financial assistance, lobbying local councillors, etc. Nothing wrong with that approach which are commonplace with those who are seeking permission to introduce new developments. As I previously stated, the Promotion have acknowledged the planning deadlines and that there are probably other interested parties in acquiring the site, so how has it led to people believing its in the bag?

Remember Sarjeant & Fredriksen have been sidelined with injury since 20th & 27th May respectively, and the outcome of this match may well depend upon how they perform on their return to action. Think the result will be far closer than some are predicting.

"Through word of mouth there is competition for the site but we believe we have a strong case" As the above confirms, the Promotion have been transparent in their Proposal & Plans, that acquiring the site, together with appropriate planning permission, is not yet a fait accompli. Personally I'm highly impressed with their approach, which will hopefully encourage all fans to support this either financially or with other means of assistance. Reported feedback from local councillors indicates they are aware of the local community initiatives that the Club have been involved in for many years, and hopefully these will be considered favourably when a final decision on who is offered the site is taken.

That blunder by Alex Harkess in ht 6, when it was obvious to bring in Pickering as a TS. instead of Hook (who could have later taken Complin's 4th ride instead) as R/R, probably would have denied Oxford the 1 match point they ended up with. Given the tight race for the final top 6 qualifying spot, tonight's managerial howler could crucially benefit Oxford when the league fixtures are finally completed.

Still need to replace 25yr old Lewis Millar who has been racing since 2016 and has the second lowest GSA in the NDL of 1.50, the lowest being 18 yr old Eli Meadows who is making his NDL debut at Plymouth. Should try for Kyran Lyden who made his NDL debut for Devils @ B.V. & scored 3 pts finishing in front of homester Freddy Hodder & the pointless LM twice. Nothing against Lewis, but he has now been racing for at least six years & has not shown any improvement & if anything has become less competitive in the home matches I've seen, often ending up well behind the rest of the field.

Agree, and with two of the team rarely beating an opponent unless they fail to finish, the Devils management should be trying to bring in other alternatives. Don't know if he is still riding, but young Danny Smith of the defunct Gems looked a far better prospect last year than the "local talent". TBH as a spectator, I want to see a competitive match, but the Devils long tail precludes us even seeing any close home encounters this season. If we stick with the same formation, I very much doubt that the Devils will even pick up a single match point in the NDL.

FYI When Poland issue their weekend schedules , the PZM always list consecutive Saturdays & Sundays, & do not confirm the actual race day until c. 2 - 3 weeks before the event. This I believe is linked to sponsorships & tv scheduling. Furthermore Saturday & Sundays are the priority days for Polish fixtures which all contracted riders are obliged to fulfil. If anyone had checked previous fixtures held at Tarnow this season, they've used Saturdays. Further feedback from Poland indicates that the stadium in Tarnow is unavailable for speedway this Sunday as it is being used for a local festival event. The Edinburgh Promotion should have been aware of how Polish fixtures are confirmed & should have not agreed to the weekend date until the PZM announced the official date. They should have informed Glasgow they would visit on either the Saturday or Sunday once the the PZM announced the official date. This would have been c. 2 weeks beforehand. What makes it more galling was that Glasgow had suggested it be moved from their normal off race day of Sunday to Saturday, due to a possible tv clash with Scotland playing Wales in the World Cup Qualifier in Cardiff, which never materialised! BTW as the home team was Tarnow, kindly explain how the visitors "Rawicz, changed there fixture from sunday, to saturday for unknown reasons"

Despite Monarchs having a 16 pt lead from the 1st leg, thanks to their Promotion's blunder of accepting this Saturday as the date for the 2nd leg, they are denied the services of Masters & Pickering, who scored paid 28 from 11 in the league encounter on 1st May. The guest replacements of Richard Lawson & Justin Sedgmen are probably the best available, but imo, unlikely to match the scoring power of Masters & Pickering. Therefore under the circumstances, expect Tigers to win the tie on aggregate.

My understanding is that as that wherever there is a non challenge fixture clash, which ever club had the fixture logged in their schedule earliest then they have priority for the rider/s service. In these circumstances, there should be no ban on riders obliged to ride in Poland, and the UK club will be entitled to the normal guest or r/r facilities for absent riders. If I'm correct, Edinburgh ,assuming they're already using r/r for Fredriksen, can use guests for Masters up to 9.41 & Pickering up to 7.53. Glasgow can either use a guest for Brennan up to 6.76 or r/r using all home riders, except Cook. is

Look forward to the Promotion advising the fans as to why they agreed to go there this Saturday. BTW both Masters & Pickering are contracted to Rawicz.

IIRC it was Avonbridge near Falkirk. Apparently it was only a piece of a field already used for informal motocross with nothing else. Also the only access was via a minor unlisted road. Believe Brian envisaged it being used for training purposes only.

Thinks this could depend upon how the reserves on both sides perform. IMO the Millar Brothers did not live up to expectations last year and will have to up their game if Devils are to be more competitive in 2022..

I doubt this will happen, as logically the scores of all riders who rode against Eastbourne in 2021 should also be erased. I believe this was queried after Eastbourne withdrew, re adjusting GSAs for all riders scores in matches against Eastbourne, and was not acted upon by the BSPL.

Dreadful if we re-sign Sedgmen & Sarjeant. Both have been around for some time & never progressed. In the case of Sarjeant, will he be fully fit physically & mentally for 2022, given his horrific crash at the Dale in October? Ruml is definitely worth another try at 4.00 as he has been beating both Becker & Nicol in the US lately.

Having called the BSPL bluff of no Poles in the Championship, will Glasgow now go for Tobiasz Musielak for 2022? As his last Premier average with Swindon was 6.52, applying the 1.6 conversion for the Championship, this would make him their number one on 10.43 Assuming they would also wish to retain Cook, Ostergaard, Brennan, & Bailey I reckon the following would be their team building averages, including 2.5% for UK riders who were tier 3 eligible at some point in time:- Tobiasz Musielak 10.43 Craig Cook 8.91 reduced to 8.69 Ulrich Ostergaard 7.96 Tom Brennan 6.48 reduced to 6.32 Connor Bailey 4.27 reduced to 4.16 If I'm correct this would give a total of 37.56, leaving 4.44 to fit in the final two, if the minimum starting average was set at 2.00 for UK newcomers. If not allowed, then at least one of the above 1 - 5 would have to be dropped, to accommodate the Pole at number one.
