That is what I have done the last two times, but unable to this year. Same as you, I will go elsewhere next year.

I’ve said for a few seasons now that the track is nothing like it used to be...yes it’s very smooth and easy to ride but as for going into the dirt line for overtaking and getting past opponents it never hardly happens as shown today because the amount of effort that the riders put in to overtake there’s no grip whatsoever and it’s so frustrating for us spectators  never mind the riders.

I thought that, how many times have you seen someone going from last to first or second by blasting round the boards. Always gets the crowd going as well.

  3. If anyone was going in May, COVID permitting, for a weekend break without the speedway with Ryanair Stansted - Warsaw - Stansted, the 18.50 return flight has been moved 23.05.

I do not expect the current restrictions to be lifted and the trip is unlikely to go ahead, this is just for people’s awareness. I am only still going as Ryanair will not offer a refund on a flight as been moved less than 5 hours.

But that's the way of the world. Anywhere you go if there's a big event on prices rise.

This year we booked to stay at the University again, we have stayed in numerous hotels in Cardiff in the early years and got fed up with the rip off prices, obviously at this time i don't know how we stand regarding refunds or maybe rolling the booking over to next year. Lets be honest there isn't going to be a GP in Cardiff in July unless there's some radical change in circumstances in the next 2-3 weeks.

We've stayed at the university for a fair few years now, it's basic but clean and handy for getting into the City Centre. At the end of the day we're a group of blokes so it suits us down to the ground. Last year we went down the Air BnB route and we paid around £80 each and to be fair it was a nice place in Penarth and the locals in the pub around the corner gave us good advice on getting into the City Centre quickly and cheaply. We only stay in Cardiff on the saturday nowadays as make a weekend of it by going to the Pairs on the friday night and staying in the Vegas of the West, Burnham on Sea on the friday night

I had an email from the Uni booking team on 03/04/20 saying if the event is cancelled, they are waiving their usual T&C’s and you will get a refund.

This virus is just a bad flu imo yes I know it's bad but the flu can be as bad,

regarding the GP would think due to costs of building a temporary track, a decision would be taken around 10 days before event, so if Postponed no cost would be taken to build the track, hope it goes ahead as flight costs will not be refunded, I can cancel my hotel

I think there will be a few of us in this situation.

  6. There are numerous posts on this forum to the effects of “Speedway is dying on its ar*e, something needs to be done”, “this time next year there will be no speedway, something needs to be done”. So this year they try something different, and it’s “ We don’t want change, we like it as it is”. Ok, it may/ may not be a good idea, but at least they are trying something different.

Like 99.99999% of posters on here, I was not at the Committee meeting but if anyone was, and I don’t mean “I was told” or “ my mates great aunts sisters brother has heard”, please tell us all exactly who agreed to what.
