    New Forest Training Track 1958-1961

Yesterdaysman's post and pictures got the old grey matter working. Mike Cake and myself used to cycle there on a Sunday from Parkstone to watch etc. I think the name of the person running it then was Fred Pike. Not many riders (junior/novice) would turn up. Very deep sand on the bends. For our moral support we were each rewarded with a cloth sew on blazer badge bearing the name and logo. Track at St. Ives, Matcham Park is not very far away,

    Polish Transfers 2018

Could some person be so kind as to enlighten me on the procedures of the numbers 8 and 16 format. Does the 2 Poles per team rule remain in force all the time, or can one be replaced by the number 8/16? Or is it only the foreigners to be vulture bait?
  3. Here is a link to an article on the Sportowefakty website re an interview with Robert after yesterdays meeting in Poland. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/715297/robert-lambert-zapowiedzial-ze-zostanie-w-motorze-chce-sie-bardziej-skupic-na-li
  4. Just back on Monday night late from our 2nd 10 day trip to Poland. 14 meetings in 20 days. We had trouble with the Wroclaw web ticket page but by reading it through they gave names of outlets throughout Poland where you can buy tickets. We bought our tickets for Fridays match at Wroclaw from STS bookies shop in Gdansk railway station. http://www.wts.pl/bilety/bilety-2017.html

(Tried buying a card when in Poland with no luck - not resident). Last year a Polish satellite company UK based sold me a card and a NC+ decoder box. This box broke so the company returned it to NC+ Poland and they replaced it with a new box. So I don't know if I am legal or illegal to receive Polish TV sport?
  6. Can anybody help with advice on how to obtain tickets for Gniezno SWC? I have been on the Gniezno ticket site (via the Monster site) and you have to create a Fan Account. When completing the application for an account they require a PESEL number (Polish Social Security number). We have written two emails to the club and they said to put in my National Insurance number - but this was rejected. Does anyone know a way round this - or know the format of a PESEL number?
  7. We're just ready for the off to the 'track from hell'. Nearly as bad as getting to and from Terenzano! Went this morning for a dummy run and to buy tickets, but no joy. People were turned away from practice as it was behind closed doors (also got no tickets)..Railway booking office closed and could not buy train tickets. Told we were best to catch the bus back but where from? A person working at the stadium kindly walked us to the bus stop. After this we'd better get a better meeting than Coventry!

Does Tvp Sports Still Show Speedway

We have been watching Polish speedway on TVP sport for 3 seasons. We get this on the TVN package, very basic (N Sport included). TVP Sport show Extra League live 2 meetings on Sundays with repeats in the week. Over the years we have seen Polish Championship, Polish Pairs, Polish U21 Championship, U21 World Team Cup Final in Poland, plus a few others. Then there is the World Ice Championship qualifier from Poland in January. The down side of things for us is a rumour from a very reliable Polish source that the 2013 rights are up for tender next year.

    World U21 2011

This was quite a competitive meeting. Some hard and fierce battles. Luck was with Loktajew as he was in 3rd place in heats 8 and 13, both had to be rerun because of stoppages, and he obligingly won the reruns. Mikkel B. Jensen needs more racing on the Polish tracks as he dropped points when he should not have done (i.e. overtaken). Yet he won heat 6 against Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Simon Gustafsson. But there again in this race poor Janowski broke a chain on leaving the pits and rode a last on his 2nd bike. He also had to push bike ¾ of a lap after a fall entering the first bend of the last lap of heat 13. We will have to see what Oskar Fajfer and Dino Kovacic have to offer when they come to Poole and Denmark type of tracks. I can’t see many, if any, maximums in the next 4 meetings as I think anybody could take points off anybody.
  11. Hope we have some good racing today. We won't be attending Cardiff etc as we fly out to Poland tomorrow. Tuesday Poznan MDMP U21 Team Championship; Wednesday Zielona Gora Pairs and League; Saturday Gniezno U21 semi final; Sunday Leszno League. Will have laptop with us so we can keep up to date with all your views of the TV matches etc. Now it's time to get the beers in the fridge, satellite dish turned to TVP for tonight, and also set the DVD to record Wedneday and next Sunday's meetings. Hope your weather is good for Somerset, Cardiff and Newport. Enjoy.
  12. FIM say the first round of the Under 21 Championship will take place at Poole on 24 July (not 23 July at Coventry). The 14th round of the Polish leagues is scheduled to take place on 24 July. Will this affect the day’s events if there are a few riders involved in the U21 round? I seem to remember one time Leszno cancelled a meeting because Pavlic was riding in a rearranged U21 round.
  13. We were at the meeting and in our opinion in heat 7 Bogdanov was lucky not to be excluded. After watching the TV replay later in the hotel room, it shows that Bogdanov fell first, running in to the corner erraticly very close to the inside. He was already off before Pawlicki hit the fence. We should imagine from the referee's view it would be hard to make a different decision as they were so far apart. With Pawlicki being next to Ward racing for position it would be hard to notice who fell first without the aid of TV replays (the replay we saw was from the high camera). The referees decisions were generally good all night.

    Ice Racing 2009/10

Assen 13th & 14th March. We have one spare ticket for Saturday and one spare ticket for Sunday in Stand B (2nd bend) as one member of our party has had to withdraw. If anyone is interested please contact me.
  15. When planning more trips to Poland I noticed that the time of my flight from Edinburgh to Poznan is now 7 hours later than when I booked it, and my flight to Riga from Stansted is 3 hours later. It looks like all fligths from Edinburgh to Poland have been revamped. Has anybody else noticed changes?
