I suspect it's more of a "we finally managed to get it done last night" affair.

Give it time...

Tatum has just commentated on the race for which he promptly reads out an erroneous result. Does what he's seeing register with him?
-
Yes, for me via Firestick there's normally two feeds to choose from on the schedule. One with commentary, one without. But it nay depend on how you get your broadcast, I suppose.

Wolves v Tigers Play Off Semi Final 1st Leg 25th September @ 19:30

Presumably to see how many people react, as of course several (including me now!) have done. Perhaps in the future we should all just leave that particular poster to their own devices? -
No picks this year, surely? First v fourth, second v third?

It's my particular bugbear, but after the cricket plug earlier I can't bring myself to have a pop! -

Fair play to Tatum for giving a big plug to tomorrow's Nigel Pearson cricket match at Wombourne, Staffs. Good stuff. -
R/R for Ellis and a top-flight debut for Boughen (who looks a prospect, but is making a big step very early in his career) makes seven rides for Kerr look likely then. This could be reasonably close.

Wolves v Witches Monday 21st Aug
Fourentee replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As someone who was there, not many cheered (none would have been preferable) and I think you’re right in terms of everyone being relatively close together seemingly lifting the noise level. And I do think fans of all clubs appreciate the difference between an innocuous slide (and I do take your point on injuries here) and a big ‘off’. Wolves again extremely fortunate to scramble a home win. So much has gone their way in recent tight Monmore fixtures, I’m genuinely astonished that the rain which descended immediately after heat 15 didn’t arrive five minutes earlier and hand them the aggregate bonus point too! Safe journey home to the Ipswich fans who made the long drive. Watching Doyle and Sayfutdinov is a genuine pleasure, but I was happiest to see Riss looking more his old self. -

Hmm, Ippo got 41 in the first staging and I have to believe that Riss/Edwards will score more than the four produced in that fixture by Barker/Joe Thompson. Against that, Craig Cook was in for the injured Becker and scored four; one would expect the American to improve on that. Wolves' recent home form is pretty patchy -- their last five Monmore matches have included a four-point win and two 'victories' via super heat in fixtures where they had the better of the luck that was going. This could be extremely tight. -
True, but probably why they were signed in the first place! Adams has always been strong on detail. He showed me his planned R/R rides at Coventry once and mentioned that he liked to avoid giving riders consecutive heats where possible. The trap thus baited, I duly plunged in and pointed out two on the trot late in the meeting for Adam Skornicki only to be told triumphantly "Coventry always have their interval between those races." Perhaps slightly off-topic, I always felt that at GB level Rob Lyon had the bigger picture at a time when those running the sport had not. He was way ahead of the curve and would have thrived under the current, more progressive set-up. In terms of success, I must note that Tony Jackson signed off Workington's tenure with the second-tier treble!!

It's suddenly dawned on our commentary team that there was something riding on heat 19 after all for Richard Lawson... -

Latvian GP Riga Saturday 12th August

Certainly nobody else did! But I suspect that with Woffinden level, thus leaving Zmarzlik with nowhere to go, it was easy for the ref to calm all four. -

Tatum's lack of mathematical competence appears to grow with every GP. -
I had a quick count through there and made it 28 wins/paid wins from 48 rides in the top flight, on an away track. Extraordinary scoring for someone currently fifth in his club's averages.

Sheffield v Wolves 24/07
Fourentee replied to Tommy Sweetman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just a thought. For the last five or six years (I didn't check back further), we seem to have had one of the play-off semi-final first legs in late September with the other five fixtures in October. This season, September appears to have been block booked for the semis (with no two semi-final legs on the same date), presumably with a view to (theoretically) better weather and more extensive TV coverage. All very sensible, but is rhe other side of the coin fewer dates for regular fixtures and less room to manoeuvre regarding rain-offs, etc? -

They get a facility for Masters, who has to take his family out of the UK for visa purposes, and Schlein who is injured. Replacements for the other two are only up to three-quarters of their average.
