Crumpie World Champion
Drew replied to Midland Robin's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well Done Crumpy. Triple World Champion! Throughly deserved it this year, best and most consistent rider by far. -
Nordic Gp, Vojens 29-08-2009
Drew replied to Peter S.'s topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That is correct Cinders as rider number 6 always rides in white in ht 2 with rider number 7 in blue. Only ht 1 has the four riders in number order I believe. The riders said the track rode well in practice (even 'making some dirt' to quote Leigh Adams) but if the rain some suggest is forecast arrives then it is going to be a typical Vojens wet meeting! -
The Return Of The Famous Blue Riband
Drew replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I'm sure Kramer is happy at Somerset thank you very much! -
Just got back from the Millenium Stadium today after having to struggle through seeing a rep who uses a hospitality suite as his showroom at the stadium. He uses a box which is directly above the start line and with this my brain started to think and I asked the obvious question about any chance of access for the GP. It only turns out that the box is the one the ref uses so no go on that although I did suggest I might be able to do a better job than some of refs who have used it in the last few years! Back to square one on that idea but it was nice to have a foc tour of the stadium after business, very strange though to be able to drive in and park under the stadium near where the pits are for the GP. The stadium seemed awfully quiet compared to the last time I went in 2007 when someone called Harris won!

Elite League Pairs 08/08
Drew replied to woofers's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Congrats to the Pirates on their victory. Looked a good meeting from what i saw of it(from ht 9 onwards), with plenty of passing thanks to riders riding as a pair and using throttle control instead of just gate and go. Hans is becoming an EL pairs specialist and now Noddy has won both the EL and PL events. -
And in the report on Seb Ulamek it says that we can expect a slick track! That will make a change for a GP then!

Polish Final Sat 25th July Line-up
Drew replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Looked a nasty one from the link. Was that in real time or edited as the medics got both riders into the ambulances in very quick time which must indicate the seriousness of the injuries they suffered? Which rider is now conscious? Best Wishes to both riders on making a full recovery as soon as possible. -
Mark Lemon Testimonial 18/09 At Somerset
Drew replied to newportspeedwayhh's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Newcastle would be difficult to get to as well especially with work on a Monday. Somerset on a Friday is perfect! I hope Lemo has a good meeting and he did actually launch his testimonial year at the OTA last November I believe as well. Bearing in mind he has predominantly ridden for southern based teams surely a southern based venue is best for this meeting. -
Well Done to Jason on an awesome display. The most complete GP performance for a long time, 7 rides, 7 wins. I am surprised that either SKY or Steve Brandon didn't mention that he broke TRick's record for GP victories tonight. The track looked good for a change even if it didn't produce as much passing and incident but you can't have everything. Although I was not at Cardiff i'm sure the atmosphere was great as usual but I reckon the interval entertainment my 15 month old daughter served up was better than at Cardiff!

Premier League Pairs

You could have quoted me Steve I wouldn't have minded. Hopefully it helped keep people up to date with the weather but glad you didn't post my texts word for word though! -
Makes sense why he is not at Cardiff then as he wants to get back into the GP properly. It is a bit daft of the FIM to hold a qualifier on the same night as a GP but i suppose it is Speedway!

I see that on Worldspeedway.com it says that Tai and Simon Stead will be the Track Reserves for this year's event. Does this mean Lee Richardson turned it down or wasn't asked? I would have thought as he finished 4th in the British Final (with his only poor ride of the night!)he should get one of those spots before Stead. I know it doesn't matter that much as quite likely neither will get a ride at Cardiff but it would be nice to know that Lee was asked before the 5th place rider.

Watched most of the GP tonight but could have declared that would be the result last weekend after it was decided that it would be in Poland this week! Ok Gollob was superb but in Germany I doubt he would have been anywhere near as effective. Greg has been shafted by Olsen and whoever else made the decision last week. Can fully understand why he is so cheesed off. Hancock is usually very good on the temporary tracks where is is not just about speed and I reckon would have been a cert for a semi final berth while I don't reckon Gollob would have made it that far in Germany. I also wonder whether Nicki was really fit last week after some of the comments made by commentary, but then again it was Pearson and Tatum! Another week suited him just fine. In my opinion the only thing that would have had the same result is that Holta would still have claimed 8th spot from Nicholls who I suppose will still get a WC next year.(Wild Card that is and not a World Championship!) All in all a great meeting on a great speedway track but it shouldn't have happened.

Somerset Junior Championships
Drew replied to crazysue's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Don't know any results but I did have a text from my Dad who was at the OTA saying 'D Ward 58 4 first ride' so unless they have changed the scoring system I reckon he was carrying on his form from Sheffield again. Unfortunately that was the only text he managed to send, mind you Darcy had probably had two or three rides by the time Dad had finished writing it! -
Jason Bunyans Testimonial 19/08
Drew replied to Damon's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
He did mention that Jeremy Doncaster and hopefully Mitch Shirra would be in attendance. Like Najjer said I can't remember who else he said!
