    Scunthorpe 2019

Just forn the record, I have checked Phanny Dillips record for his last four home and last four away meetings, the findings do not suggest him ever winning a race, and he has only beaten one rider in his 33 rides, and that was Wilko who fell off and remounted. 33 RIDES IN THESE EIGHT MEETINGS. 24 LAST (4th) PLACES. 4 ENGINE FAILURES. 5 RACES WHERE HE SCORED 1 POINT FOR LAST PLACES IN THREE RIDER RACES. WINS-------ZERO 2ND PLACES-------ZERO SO THE ONLY RIDER HE HAS FINISHED IN FRONT OF ACTUALLY FELL & REMOUNTED. Now maybe some of you will understand our feelings and bitterness we have towards Phanny after he refused to accept being sacked by Scunthorpe, he is a pathetic, thick skinned selfish hopeless form of a man, just think what his opinion of the fans is when he just keeps turning up meeting after meeting and we paid to see the pathetic creature trundle round in last place in every race, no one can tell me that he was trying. In my opinion he will never ever get any team to offer him anything after the contempt he has shown Rob, at least the season is now over, so get lost Phanny and go home and count the vast points earnings you have made turning out for us, you really must be proud of your smug self..
  2. It has been said so many times already, but that was a brilliant meeting , and just shows what we have missed this season if it had not been for so many long term injuries. So we now go to Workington with a lead of 18 points, before the meeting I would have settled for a lead of 14 points, so this is a small bonus, also riding for us as guest is Jorgy, who usualy rides well around their track, and Josh Auty usually has a lot of poor meetings up there, and must not like their track, so that is another bonus for us. The six riders last night need all the praise that we can give them, and if they put as much in their riding on Thursday we should be ok, so go for it lads and lets have the Cup to look forward to seeing at the start of next seasons opening match. GOOD LUCK AND STAY SAFE GUYS.

It sure is not going well for Phillips nowadays, tonight there were three or four side shows including a bouncey castle, a couple of candy stalls and a "HOOK A dUCK STALL", but when Danny went over to this stall he found that he was banned, he pleaded why? and was informed that he already had three ducks tonight and that he was well known for winning three of them every meeting. He tried to tell the stall holder that he had a right to use it, but was informed that the rule did not apply to riders that tried to use it after the closing date for signing !!!!

I am sorry to say, but after looking at the BS site, it says that he was unavailable due to work commitements, I wonder if this work is fitting a 500CC engine into his bike, to replace the 350 one.

I have just had a look at the Coventry result tonight, and my hopes have been raised when seeing that Phillips is not riding and there is RR down for him !!!, does this also meen that he is not available for our Cup Final on Sunday afternoon ??? I don't suppose we will have such luck, but you never know !!!!!!

You already know the answer to that question Hernia Wise, it is not possible for a rider like Phillips to be retained for a full season like he has, and if ever a rider had a full season with a team and averaged less than 0.5, he would certainly be the most thick skinned rider ever, for not calling it a day. You will obviously think that I am very hard faced with these comments, but I am one of the Scunny supporters that has turned out every meeting, and watched him trundle round each race, ofter half a lap behind, and has really pissed off so many of our fans for his own benefit, actually we can fill in the race card at the start of each meeting as far as Phillips is concerned, I do not want to ever see the spoiled thick skinned guy ever again, he has let down the team, the management and the supporters, and to insist that we must keep him in the team even though no one wants him, just shows how pathetic he is, and I do not care what you think Dandelion, because you mustbe a family member of very good mate to give him any backing whatsoever.

After tonights meeting at Workington, I am hoping that Phillips pays Rob Godfrey a visit and says how sorry he is that he has held him at ransom for the past three meetings by insisting that he wanted to stay in the team after Rob had sacked him for his riding. Once again this guy has rode in five races and has not beaten a rider as usual, scoring two points from last places in a couple of three rider races, he should now do the correct thing and admit to the promotor that he cannot ride in this league and is far from being good enough to record any points, this is despite Rob sticking by him all season and like us supporters must have known that Phillips would always trundle at the rear of every race and by his inclusion has pissed off many supporters all season. Just a reminder that the Phillips average is about 0.8 for the season and most of these few points have been gained by his last places in three rider races. Phillips must have skin as thick as a bloody elephant to even show his face, with everyone knowing what he has done, call it a day Matt or just stick to being a very average National League rider, you have certainly pissed off many Scunthorpe supporters this season.
  9. Phillipsr, your three latest postings just highlight what an arse hole you really are. By just coasting round showing two fingers is not taking the piss out of Rob Godfrey, it is taking the piss out of his team mates, and us paying supporters, who have actually stuck by Phillips all season hoping that he did show some signs of looking like a Speedway Rider, but week after week he just turned up and rode half a lap behind all other riders, some that have never seen our track before.] To say that he had been injured last season was in Robs thoughts when giving him the reserve ride for Scunny, not only has he ridden all this season, he was also part of our National league team possibly 6 years ago, I remember him vividly, because Phillips and Fenwick used to trundle round bringing up the rear every race, just like Phillips has done this season. In my opionion he must be really thick skinned to turn up when management and the supporters have had more than their share of him. HE IS THE WORST RIDER EVER TO HAVE BEEN ENGAGED BY SCUNTHORPE.
  10. Tonights meeting was a very poor show in general, Workington started the better, and looked likely winners building up an 8 point lead with two races to go, but somehow Scunny hit back with two x 5-1 in heats 14 & 15. There was very little passing tonight, every race being strung out, it was also cold and the meeting got off to a bad start with gate problems, then mic problems, in fact this was very unlike most EWR meetings, excepting the final two races, but two races out of 15 is not good enough. The meeting for scunthorpe supporters was ruined by the news that Phillips was still with us after being sacked last week, as expected he followed his 23 previous 23 races without scoring a point, by adding 5 more zero's to his total making it 28 races without scoring a point. In mine and many more fans opinions, this guy is a selfish, self centred childish guy and has no thoughts for supporters, team members or for that matter nobody but himself, even by turning up after more or less forcing Rob Godfrey into reinstalling him, after all his crying and bleeting just shows how very thick skinned he must be. After keeping him in the team all season, and with him just bringing up the rear in nearly every race, pissing off many supporters on his way, the promoter kept faith in the selfish brat until the very end of season, I still cannot get over the neck he has shown. I for one cannot see him ever getting another team that would support signing him, knowing this is how he reacts, just to suit himself, I for one hope his efforts are finally over.
  11. I have been reading the Scunthorpe Telegrah where Danny Phillips is complaining badly about being sacked after the Sheffield match, in my opinion he is really not looking at reallity:- He is unhappy that it is after transfer deadline day and does not have chance of any other team coming in for him. (who does he think have him lined up after this season ). Then he states that he was looking forward to helping the team win some silver ware. (how can he have done that when he just scores four or five zero's every match, and is never going to gain a second or a winning position against anyone when he just trundles round usually 50 yards behind anyone, he is living in a dream. Summary :- his average is about 1.2 and getting worse, most of these few points have been from 3rd positions or in three rider races. I would think that a few supporters have said enough is enough, I had not missed a meeting for 7 years, but said before the Sheffied match if he is in the team I will not be there. Has anyone ever seen him gate and make the first bend in a leading bunch, he is normally 5 yards adrift, I am sorry but he has lost it and needs to think of retiring. He has had countless bike problems and if they do ever complete the four laps, they are far more slower than all others, may be bike or rider ???? Matt is not one of these young up and coming new riders just starting out, he is about 26 and has raced for over six years, even for Scunthorpe, so he is now going backwards. I do not like making some of the above comments, but after seeing him moaning and telling the press that he hasn been badley treated, I feel someone has to. Rob has stuck with him from April till September and never complained how really bad he is, Phillips has left many meetings with a full set of zeros to his name. The guy should really think very hard on how he can brake even Racing in British Speedway, he is not even a good NL rider and thats after six or seven years. Anyway, I wish Matt the best of luck in the future, but not to pin any hopes of any Championship Teams knocking on his door with a contract.
  12. Danny should have been binned five monthe ago, when it was clear that he would never make the Champioship league. I have been saying this since May, how anyone can condemn supporters and Rob for having had enough of him, 20 odd races and he has not scored a bloody point, I left against Ipswichafter they realled of 6 x 5-1, yesterday we didnot bother goin against Sheffield, the reserves scored 3 points from 10 rides which I have said many times, less that being pathetic. The problem is that Rob has always included a dummy at reserve since 2012, and he will probably do so enext season. PhILLIPS has not only been getting his own rides, he has also beentaking R/R races. Godd luck to the lad, but I am very glad to see him gone, he must have cost the promotion a lot of cash, not in points money, but with supporters having seen enough.
  13. Can we just forget about Speedway and have seven riders like the poster shows, there is one thing for sure, I will not be leaving after 9 heat like last Friday. This could be an entertaining meeting between the two wooden spoon contenders, and both teams riding without reserves !!!!!! Suppose we will be there once again, a bloody glutton for punishment, what with a big supporter of Scunthorpe Utd and the Scorpions, no wonder my hair is now white. And as stated a team like the poster shows would be fine, and it would probably score more bloody points than the present team !!!!!!!!!!

I fully agree with most of the comments above, and I have cooled down a bit since Friday night, but still feel that the meeting was really poor by Scunthorpes usual standards, and nearly everything was not as supporters want things. Firstly the meeting dragged on for a meeting at the EWR, whereas we are not used to this at Scunny and there was no reason for it apart from the ref who was mainly at fault by taking ages between races and he just would not put the 2 min warning on, Rob usually jumps on refs for thiis, but on Friday appeared to be as pissed off as we were and did not hurry the ref, which is as said, very unusual. Secondly the team was depleted I appreciate this, but to have RR for Josh, and a poor guest for Jake, plus our reserve strength being probably the worst in the league, we were well and truely thrashed as expected, but Garity apart, there appeared to be very little effort put in by our riders, we just could not gate at all and I thought that the track was not in bad nick, it appeared that Ipswich had no problems with it, and as stated Steve withdrew after one race, but was fit enough 20 hours later to drive from Grimsby up to Workington to take a guest invitation for Lakeside. Lack of effort coupled with bikes that were underpowered compared with the Ipswich lads. Anyway if no one complains, Rob will probably feel that nothing is wrong with things, but season after season we have a reserve that scores nothing, and the guy is never dropped, other teams like Peterborough bin riders that are never performing, but we never make changes and just accept it, but it surely must piss off other supporters just as much as myself, I would love for Matt Phillips to turn things round, but he is getting worse if anything, he should pack racing in if he is so far behind others.

Young Drew Kemp will be a top British rider very quickly, he rode our track brilliantly and you would have thought that he was a home rider, the way he attacked the difficult conditions because of earlier heavy rain was unbelievable. When you see our supposedly 2 pointer Phillips trundling round at the back of every race, you would think that he was on a 350 CC bike, and to think that he has ridden for years and was even riding a few years ago in our Conference League team, he is probably averaging 1 point, and most of these have been gained from 3rd places in three rider races, but for the past six years Rob has always had at least one no scoring dummy in the team, but with all of the injuries we have had this season Phillips has had to also take injured riders and RR rides as well as his own, even scoring seven zero's in some meetings, no team can carry a rider like him. OK as has been stated, the guy had a bad crash last season, but a year later this excuse cannot still be used for ever, he should stay in the Conference League until he can be classed as a good rider in that leagues standard and should have been binned months ago, and give one of this batch of young Brithish riders a chance, I admire the guy, but am sick of watching him make up the numbers, and have no chance of meeting a 2 point average, I an wondering what he thinks of himself at scoring zero after zero every meeting, we could have possibly have got away with it if we had not had so many injuries, and also not having a second reserve that has had his share of zero meetings. I have supported the Scunthorpe team since Quible Park, Ashbt Ville and the EWR, and have only missed one meeting in the past 8 years, but we actually walked out of Fridays meeting after 9 heats of painfull strung out races, no passing and we got outgated every race, the scoreline of 30-59 reflected how terrible our team performed, with Nielsen zero from 6 races, Phillips zero from 3 races, Worrall 3 then withdrawal and the Guest 4 from 5 races, this from a home team is pathetic, and no wonder supporters were leaving after 8 or 9 drawn out races. Six years of being in the bottom two places is a bit depressing at times, but the racing is normally very good on our track, but with getting stuffed nearly every week it gets a bit much at times.
