If that`s the line up its very weak at 3 and 4 as you have two riders brand new the the league, much better to having Vissing in one of those numbers.

Not too bothered going to be an entertaining team, hopefully winning at home and gradually getting better away, some tough away fixtures this season .

  2. Personally the swearing did not bother me but imagine if this was a Football, Cricket or Rugby Union media day, I get Tai has a outgoing personality and given this maybe Phil Morris should have had a word with the riders beforehand  to highlight that this is going out live.

Me too. Maybe Celina will get outings in the women's races?

Possibly they thought Comets fans would come anyway, but still confused at no Comets.

Agree but probably down to the organisers  of the Ben Fund to assemble the meeting riders.

Workington Press and Practice the following week so it will be the first time people will see the full one to seven riders who will be lining up for the Comets.

Yes I know other tracks are still to have there own practice sessions to fit in before the season starts.

Personally £23 sounds bit steep to me. I'd have thought they'd try & keep it lower (£20) to pack the place out, anywho thinks it's worth £23, could still donate the extra £3?

Also are the riders racing for free / expenses only? I always thought they did, but I remember reading an interview with Simon Lambert last year, where he suggested it was like getting paid practice?

So when I see comments like "it's for a good cause" to make people who who are questioning the price look bad, I think if it's for a good cause why are the riders getting paid? Plus the Ben Fund always used to get the fines issued from the BSPL (or was it the SCB) which apparently stopped a year or two back. Why would they take money away from such a good cause? That seems far worse than a fan suggesting £23 is too much!

Can see your thinking but meetings cost money to promote/run and whilst riders will gladly turn up for this event I am sure they will need some costs to be met , plus this field of riders looks like being one of the best so far in the history of the event.

The UK is going through a cost of living crisis and while there is not much difference between £20 and £23 the effect over a few thousand people is massive and will go a long way in helping riders now and in the future.

  6. “I decided I did not want to do the Championship in the UK in 2024 as the travelling is too much between here and Poland every weekend, but I did want to do the Premiership still. I guess because of my illness last year I underperformed so no one made an offer or wanted to take a chance but I am willing and able to come back if needed. So with the quality in the line-up for the Ben Fund meeting I can hopefully remind a few promotors what a fully fit Erik Riss is capable of.

hi , what age do you have to be to be classed as concession entry . plus ID requirements . thanks

the entry fee is in line with most one off events .it going to be a great day for speedway and injured riders who need help/support while injured

its only a few quid extra, just miss out on the extra beer between now and the meeting .nothing lost .

Not sure of details , just got information from Facebook .
