    Leicester Lions 2024

Not at 6:30 when the gates were opened to the public though. I'm afraid when you open things to the public these are the little things that need thinking about and addressing
  2. Track was in top notch condition last night, forecast rain between 4 and 6 shouldn't be enough to postpone a meeting in 2024, but sadly we all know it is. So a day spent yesterday telling all the press that speedway is back tomorrow night, getting their message out there for people to come, all for nothing... again!
  3. Track covers aren't going to save every meeting, but they certainly will when there is just 1 band of rain sweeping across the country, which is often the case. Complete rain outs they're never going to save. You would have needed a small dingy to have crossed the massive lake in front of the entrance anyway
  4. Another case for track covers with rain due to only be between 4 and 6... yet again all of a clubs efforts into an opening night gone to waste!

Popped in to watch a bit of practice... first thing I'm greeted with under the new regime is Lake Leicester covering the whole of the entrance to the stadium like a moat! Would it have really hurt for somebody to have brushed it all away? There was a big top circus camped next door and some of their punters may have been tempted to have a look at what all of the noise was about... but they'd have to have pole vaulted over it... I really do despair sometimes, same old speedway, smh. Perhaps that was @davieb1 's job Other than that, good to see, hear and smell the bikes again.

It's going to be rained off mid-afternoon I think, hope not though

    Brummies 2024...

I think they made a mistake, surely the story should have been released to the press on April the 1st

Reply by all means but I don't think you should be quoting people if they've said something in a private environment and publicising their personal medical conditions, if they've said it on FB or some other public forum, fair enough it's fair game. @W9 Lion clearly holds a position at the club, it would probably have been wiser for the club to have made an official statement if they wanted to address this situation rather than airing their dirty tittle tattle in public
  10. We've had a hell of a lot of rain since Saturday afternoon, fingers crossed it's all drained away and we get no more!

I'm not on FB so didn't know. Looking forward to seeing the new race suits, hope they're an improvement on recent previous seasons.

He's not posted any 5h1t though, just said he's not a fan. I don't think you should be bringing personal quotes from private conversations/ correspondence into the public arena

    Leicester Lions 2024

Well, I don't think you should be bringing private quotes into the public domain, especially publicising somebody's medical conditions... unless I've missed these quotes being made in the public arena

    Swindon Stadium

Does he not know there's a perfectly good speedway track and stadium in existence already, owned by his business partner and one he's promoted at for years? What the flippin flip?!?

    TV coverage for 2024

I think end of April has been mentioned... with a break for the Olympics

    Brandon Update

They could easily do a Swindon though, include a flat pack Speedway stadium in the plans, sell the houses and then pull the stadium down
  20. One big league for me, with rider numbers in each team to suit rider availability, 6 rider teams or whatever. Clubs to run on the night of their choosing. The 7 team PL is a joke and the CL is fast approaching the same quantity so the time is right for OBL imo
  21. Are Thursday's Britain's to "give up"? I thought it was Monday and Wednesdays that were protected but we just elected to go for Thursday's instead, don't know how Denmark fits into that scenario? I thought it was all agreed at FIM level, could be wrong of course

I wonder if Sudden Sam still has his racing gear

    Brandon Update

I don't think they can, thought this was the final decision. I don't know if it applies to that specific planning application though... could they submit another one with a running track instead of a football pitch for example... or a Speedway stadium, now there's an idea!
