Jeez! Your comment above is absolute rubbish... The NDL match was a more enjoyable match than the preceding Championship vs Scunny. It cost bugger all to watch and 80-90% of the crowd stayed for both matches 15 year old Vinnie Joe Foord certainly sets the pulses racing more than a bit; and the two sides were evenly matched as it went to a last heat decider. Excellent entertainment (just a shame you weren't there to see it!)

Leicester vs Scunny CL 10/07/21
Mike.Butler replied to iainb's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
meting ran well. I was home in sussex by 11.00. Josh Mac was worth far more and definitely worth watching -
I regret that the iow aren't running; but unless a club can run at a professional level (i.e championship), then they ride in a 3rd tier that should definitely in my opinion be a division that the likes of Buxton can be competitive in. I said a few years back that the national DEVELOPMENT league has been hi-jacked by dropping down clubs who were paying riders more money than should have been allowed at that level. Hence we lost stalwarts Buxton after years of struggle. It seems the IOW (and possibly Mildenhall too), fall between the two levels and it's clear there aren't enough other stand-alone clubs left for a league at their ideal level. (in fact have there ever been?).. I think on this occasion the right decision has prevailed...Winning the 3rd division should not be the priority of any of the competing teams...it should be about development..

Some good news for you Tony... Greater Anglia have replaced the open shelter Up platform waiting area at Rye House with an enclosed waiting room with new seating and featuring automatic doors and energy efficient air conditioning plus state of the art cctv... thought you'd be pleased

I am in that picture. i'm in front of the chap using the green pen.

I believe Timpsons are still open. A single hole costs £1 in the charity box. sounds like you need to take a note Tony.

unlike any of the spectator facilities

British Under 19 Championship, Scunthorpe, 20.09.2020
Mike.Butler replied to ScunnyDan's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
You're right Arnie...Go a long way to see racing of this quality. Thoroughly enjoyable 2 hours..(and perhaps they can sort out the p.a. before next year!..) -
I drove down from Sussex and it was really worth the trip.. I did provide some feedback on one or two things that could be improved for those on back straight stand.. But more importantly that it was the best racing i've seen at Plymouth... and the stadium improves with every visit.

I have to say the Star has been very interesting during the pandemic. An exceptional effort in my view.

I have been looking at Eastbourne's 70th anniversary meeting programme from 3rd October 1999 in which Bob Dugard states Arlington is "The longest running Speedway in the Country and perhaps the world". Is there any legitimacy to this claim?
-
i everyone, anyone confirm the (advertised) official start time of Mildenhall meetings that year please? Just have a sneaking feeling that late in the year they would have started a bit earlier than 4.30.... (no indication in prog) thanx mike

Assuming Sheffield are ultimately able to make the sums add up this is the best news of the winter (so far...)
