  1. Or, if they don't have the funds - the fact that they are trying to facilitate a survival plan and subsequently offer to manage / run the club is as essential and credible as any financial donation.
  2. Whether he has money to put in is personal and irrelevant. Swales commitment to Peterborough Speedway for many years surely has to be appreciated and respected. Its obvious he does it for the passion he has for his club. At least he is trying to keep things going - how can they go out to sponsors when they don't actually have anything to sell. So Mahoney states Hortons reported losses have done the club no favours. A year after putting the club up for sale reporting losses of approx 500k during their tenor. Now who would buy into that? Oh yes........
  3. Was thinking the same. How can you continually make the same costly and extremely damaging mistake. It's so unbelievable, so avoidable, so unprofessional, it's amost deliberate.

    Posf2 Poole V Kings Lynn

Oh my days. Some of you should just read yourselves, it's so pathetic and childish. We've had days of torrential rain, to which under 'normal' circumstances no one would expect a meeting to survive this weather. Always the conspiracy - look outside FFS.

    Darcy Ward

A random 1000 people were asked who had heard of Phelps or Ward. Our survey said 995-5? Or am I being generous.

Irrelevant, TV is and has always been there. Get the headlines and gain the attention. It's what you do with it that counts. Speedway is far from winning on that front.

Swimming, I repeat swimming (no disrespect to swimmers out there), has an organised, neutral governance. Phelps front page headlines. Speedway, a far more exciting and in my opinion sellable sport, Darcy who? Highlights why we are where we are to me.
  8. Think the 17 trophies since his take over might have something to do with the support. Many will only come out to support a winning team. Peterborough are masters at that.
  9. All very confusing until the last line. Poole were going nowhere until he took the reins, they are now the best supported club in the EL. Like or loathe, he's succesful at promoting. Maybe, just maybe that's the direction Frost should have taken.
  10. Good point but proves one rider can make all the difference.
  11. Not so sure about that. Would expect Iversen to have scored double figures compared to the guests 6+1. That could have meant taking a 10 point lead into the second leg. A very different situation based on one rider.
  12. Thought we were trying to rid the sport of cheating yet you openly encourage it. Not good.
  13. Wouldn't it be nice if we all worked for the best interest of Speedway and its supporters. I can see all points of view but I would have thought we would prefer a date when Lasse is available. Then again, why set a date for a Final knowing your no 1 will be absent. In addition the lack of confirmed agreed dates really doesn't help those Edinburgh fans trying to plan their weekend. All clubs need to maximise the attendance potential - this sort of conflict will have the adverse effect. Simple forward thinking, working together - wouldn't that be refreshing.
  14. Surprised the double entendre took that long. Pleased to hear you enjoyed the meeting and was worth attending.
  15. This the PL we are debating, most of those that pulled out have probably reached their level or are foreign. Can't see this instance assisting Team GB's climb up the rankings. 2 meetings in Poland without PL meetings would surely put a rider out of work. Might struggle with the mortgage if that were the case. In Allens case, he recently stated in 2 interviews that PL was his priority this season. Then a few weeks later 'chose' the Polish play offs over the PLRC due to the money on offer. I can understand that but given the number of meetings provided by his PL club, and resulting wages, I would have expected the PLRC to take priority. Can't imagine it would have an adverse effect on the Polish attendance. Whereas when all the riders pulled out so did I. It's supposed to be the top riders from each team - that's the meeting I wanted to see. As we have all said, the annoying bit is it could have been avoided with simple forward planning.
  16. It was only Allen's second meeting of the season for the Polish club v +30 for Somerset. It's not about precedence, it's about showing some loyalty and respect. The PLRC isn't just a meeting filler, it's supposed to be the best riders of the season battling to be overall champion. It wasn't just 'some British fixture' when he so proudly won it last season.
  17. Agree but this is a BSPA meeting, held at Sheffield. It just frustrates the hell out of me when it's the supporters that are treated with no respect, by the riders or promotors. With a bit of simple planning and a pair of balls it could have been avoided - but no one seems to care and just expect we will turn up regardless.
  18. First thing I thought upon hearing Allen was out as riding in Poland. Contradicts his recent interviews in SS and British Speedway web-site. Especially as you say, he is the defending champion. Understand these guys have a living to make but +30 meetings a season in the UK v the odd call up abroad. Maybe I'm missing something but appears to show a lack of respect to your full time employees and supporters.
  19. Agreed, so why take the Polish fans into consideration? They hardly know or have seen these riders all season. Also agree that if the relevant bodies worked together it surely could have been avoided.
  20. It's one of the major PL events of the season. Some of these 'drop outs' have rarely been called on for their Polish team yet been given a permanent team place at their PL club all season.
  21. In my opinion this is a disgraceful action from a number of riders, not to mention a real slap in the face to their clubs supporters. 5 withdrawals to date, still time for more. If they can't be ar$ed then why should I be. I'm so fed up with all this farcical crap and the lack of respect towards the paying punters. Think I might just give it up and stick to GP's.
  22. Leave a team, due to injury, with a chance of the making the play offs to then ride in between meetings elsewhere. Doesn't seem logical but hey what do I know.
  23. So Lasse didn't come home and A Dryml rides abroad at the weekend. In next weeks episode of Panthers and the 'Supremo'........

    Peterborough Panthers 2014

If there is / was a payment issue, which is all still rumour, why keep missing the away meetings but ride at home?
