More conspiracy that’s got to be up there as one of the stupidest posts.

    Brilliant.

Thanks for confirming my post. If you had left it after your first two lines it would have been a decent post. The last line was hypocritical and stupidest  - more stupid. You totally contradicted yourself. Not so brilliant. Have a great evening.

18 pages and probably around 2 pages is actually about the meeting.

I know it is a huge debating point but surely it’s been done to death now , let’s see what happens now  and get the facts.

I notice Lees wife has posted on FB about what he had taken.

Brilliant! That’s got to be right up there with the most hypocritical posts ever. Done to death, then add more conspiracy.

Came across an uploaded tribute to Craig Featherby by his brother Neil on you tube yesterday that included footage of Craig riding for Kings Lynn and Milton Keynes

It was 40 years ago on the 16th September 1983 that Craig sadly lost his life from injuries received in a track crash at the showground

Whilst i was shocked it was now 40 years ago i still have memories of that fateful night ,

The very wet track and atrocious conditions that the riders rode in that night with many saying at the time the meeting should never have been run at all.

As a consequence of the fateful crash the control board made it compulsory for track lighting to be moved back from the fence to a minimum of 3 metres

The lighting in those days was like a standard street light and if one bulb blew it left a dark spot on the track  thankfully theres no issue with todays bright lights.

    —————————————
A very sad night. If my memory is correct, I’m sure the MK’s riders wanted the meeting called. After a track inspection the referee’s decision was the match continues. It was the very next race when the tragic accident occurred. I can remember getting home and seeing it announced on Anglia news. I feared the worst but was in shock with what I’d just witnessed.

This is the best Ray of hope that I have seen from anyone since about April 2023. I have also shared elsewhere.

Is this guy for real? Or taking the absolute pish? This is the worst time ever to come out with more bolixio. Prior to the season he was our messiah, our saviour, “we will be World beaters”, he said. Then F All communication all season. Now this crap. We were the worst team I’ve ever watched at Peterborough for 53 years. Appears we are the same age too, was a very young kid at the first meeting with my parents. All that happened was to change our traditional colours to suit. We ARE Red And Black. Thanks for your sponsorship but I would have preferred us to die without your false promises. Forgive my emotion but walking away last night for the last time was a very sad moment.

I know sport and politics should not be mixed but as an I am appalled that Glasgow have signed  Russian rider.  As far as I am concerned every point  he and his uncle take is stained with Ukrainian blood.  Shame on the BSPL for sanctioning it.

I can’t believe what I am reading. You’ve contradicted yourself in one opening sentence. What evidence do you have for making such a dreadful comment?

I'm not suggesting Ellis did well tonight, did win a heat thought, I'm saying he's the 4th best rider on Polish form, so the sensible option for 4th rider. Whoever is the 4th rider in the final is unlikely to score much at all.

Not really a comparison. The opposition was poor. But hey ho, let’s move on to the final because we will need all at their best.

Nobody is a 'much better option', that's the point.

@iainb has it pretty much spot on, Adam Elllis and Tom Brennan (and Bomber for that matter) have always ridden for GB abroad. If the likes of Worrall, Lawson, Wright etc (who all have it far to comfy in the UK) have declined those opportunities then they cant moan about not being involved in the SWC.

Of course there are. You know they all declined? If so, it backs my comment. Harris would give all for GB, doubt he would ever decline and is miles ahead of Ellis.

Are you a troll or just blind stupid???

Lawson and Worrall are not riding at Poole and would do as bad as Ellis

Do us all a favour and shut up

Gavlar, please do us us all a favour and and stop with this everything anti Poole. Ellis is out of his depth. Should never have been picked, Can’t understand why he was. Many riders with much higher averages. Harris, without doubt a much better option.

Many people and many riders love it, each to their own. I for one will be sad to see it go. It’s a unique challenge. If we find a new track, it will be what we want it to be and not restricted by a dog track. However I would be quite happy if it were the same shape and size.

Very much doubt it is ‘many’. I do hope you can survive, as we hope too. Same shape and size then I hope the home crowd cover it or it will be 4 again. Definitely not me. I guess it’s what your brought up on.

There were at least 4 I saw.

Please don’t tell me you’re surprised. The worst track in British Speedway. I would go as far as saying it’s not even Speedway to me. I really hope Wolves find a new home with a decent track. Good luck for the future, looks like many of us have a very unpredictable future.

Personally I think Zmarzlik was at fault

However it’s funny reading old man Middlo who believes the referee cost Jack Holder??

Obviously the Poole boss doesn’t know the rules that no race can be awarded at GP level….. o don’t agree with the rule but surely Muddlo should know it

Unfortunate for Holder ….. but someone had to be excluded so to see Muddlo get his knickers in a twist over the decision costing Holder is hilarious

FFS man (women)! You could have just left it at your first line - but no, your obsession with all things Poole is tedious. You just can’t help yourself.

If they didn’t change it then no one would ever have a testimonial in this day and age

Quite right. Testimonial’s were rewarded for service to a club, not to the sport. A farewell meeting upon retirement I understand - but not then return a year or two later.

  13. Most Testimonial’s cannot now be taken seriously. It was usually rewarded after 10 years at the same club. I have no idea why that suddenly changed. Understand the ‘Farewell meetings’ (after long service) but not those that benefit then return a year or two later.

I'm not sure being called Victor Meldrew or a 'clown' is particularly abusive, in fact the worst word on the entire thread is 'crap', and you used that yourself.

Would be nice if you could acually have a discussion rather than slagging something off (as you normally do) and then disappearing when people disagree. Other than the delays which to be honest I didn't really notice as I was chatting to lots of people I hadn't seen for months, why did you think it was 'crap'? There was passing and close racing from the first heat to the last on a good surface between a well matched field and it raised money for a good cause.

As somebody has said perhaps speedway is no longer for you.

I would say Victor Meldrew and Clown is insulting, not abusive. I think ‘crap’ was the taken in bad context, understandable. From what I read the long waits between action is also what really puts me off (crap). I want race after race, as per Wealdstone, not standing around in the cold. Especially for those less fortunate. That’s not entertaining. You stated that you didn’t even understand his comment.
Just get on with the meeting is all he meant, as I read it. Pleased you had a good day for a great cause.
