  1. It was the full price for the kids which was the biggest own goal by the Poole promotion. We all know its a family sport and the kids are taken by full paying adults. Yes we've heard all the "concert tickets have no reduction for children" etc but this is Speedway not a concert and the prices in our sport have always been structured between adults and children. But there you go its over now and you live and learn.
  2. I agree if it were now Saturday and the forecast for tomorrow were heavy showers then i'd start panicking. But its a 5 day forecast and lets be honest, they're not exactly error proof are they! Put the same site up again this time tomorrow and it'll probably say something completely different
  3. The early forecast does indeed look a concern at this stage http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1187
  4. Yes Gollob would have been a massive draw and i don't believe for 1 second that he wouldn't have got an invite to this from the Poole promotion. If he can't be tempted over for 1 single meeting with a 60 k winners cheque then i'd assume that the chances of him coming back for another season are pretty much non existent unfortunately.
  5. While i don't agree with your point about it pouring down, i do agree that charging 25 quid for a child is ridiculous as do the Poole fans to be fair to them. For someone who is desperately trying to promote the event to bring in as much money as possible to help finance it, it seems bizzare that he is putting off a very large number of people by charging such a ridiculous amount for a child. How many people have said they would have gone for a great family day out but won't bother because of those prices for the kids? And how many parents will still go, but will leave the poor kids at home with the grandparents because they won't pay the 25 for a childs ticket? There will no doubt be a lot of unhappy kids who love their speedway, left at home and thats a great shame.
  6. But that reply again makes no sense to what you have been stating ever since the limit came out. You kicked up a huge fuss because of the lowering of the limit. You even stated that you would rather have seen it increased so you could have watched an even stronger Poole side than last year, being able to fit in Kasprzak along with Crump and Pedersen while the clubs that were badly cut adrift at the bottom last year would have been even further cut adrift with fewer options. How on earth would that have resulted in better racing and entertainment and "value for money"? You are the one who is constantly mentioning the standard of rider on show this year than last, "Batchelor at 3" no less, but the standard of rider on show in the Elite is still superior to that of the premier league. If its a better standard of racing that you want and you're not in fact bothered by the high standard of rider, then you should have actually been pleased with the lowering of the limit and not pissed off!! You seem to contradict yourself with every post you make on the matter and like i've said, its really hard to see where you are coming from.
  7. You're making no sense at all your really not. So in actual fact its the lack of "top stars" like those you've mentioned thats annoyed you? But yet you're quite happy to go to Somerset instead? You didn't want the low limit and yet you are moaning about the lack of good racing and entertainment. Andy, thats exactly the point of lowering the limit!!!! The "racing" generally last year in the top flight was utter rubbishe with many a thumping handed out. There is no doubt the league looks tighter this year from top to bottom and those thumpings we saw last year will be few and far between. Of course they will still happen occasionally, but far less frequently than last year. I agree totally with Steve, i don't understand your stance at all its a bit baffling to say the least.
  8. I am the only one concerned that this meeting with such a big prize at stake is too early in the season? Most teams have challenge matches first to blow away the winter cobwebs before the competitive stuff starts. These top boys will come in to this meeting having had little or no match practise since the end of last year and with such a huge sum of money going to the winner, there is always the danger that some may try a little too hard. We've already heard from such an experienced rider as Lee Richardson say that his practise last weekend started off very "wobbly". I've a feeling there will be an awful lot of nervous fans up and down the country on the 9th of March praying that their hopes for the new season are not blown away before the season has even started!
  9. Now come on Rabbit stop dangling those carrots of yours and tell us which rider Mr Ford is worrying about and which of the replacements you'd rather see!

    Scott Nicholls

Makes interesting reading. The Coventry fans will insist there is no problem between the 2, possibly because they want the 2 to stay. But others have said the relationship between the 2 has been strained for a while and this could well be the straw that breaks the camels back. Nicholls to head south East?
  11. I agree he just hasn't made the impact many thought he might a few years ago and i personally would like to see what KK can offer the GP series. If Hampel does miss out that could well rumber stamp his move back to Foxhall perhaps.

    Kenny Carter Book

Some people never fail to amaze me. Unbelievable
  13. Got to agree he was doing well while riding over here, quits britain and his form goes down the toilet. Once again the guys at the top of the leaderboard all ride in the British league. Many riders moan about the amount of meetings they have to ride over here but maybe there's just something in the theory that regular meetings keeps the riders sharp?
  14. She's one of the top presenters on Sky Sports and you can clearly see why. Very proffesional and very good at her job. Would like to see her doing the speedway more regularly Also have we definitely seen the last of Sara? I also thought she was good in the pits and had a great manner about her.
