There's also the possibility that if Lanham doesn't get fixed up with a PL club he could find himself coming back into the team if Risager doesn't hit the ground running, from reading CL's comments in the local paper it certainly sounds like Risager is on his last chance. Or Risager will end up in reserve if / when Ellis and/or Hawkins kicks on with their averages.

Worrall is in his third "reduced" year of a three year span. Thrilled that Manzares is a club assett and with the line up we should have good reserves all year - it'll start will Hawkins and Ellis but both of those could get into the main team and Risager or Manzares could swap places with either / both of them - strong reserves are so vital and are generally the key to winning meetings and that is something we will have all season. Couple that with a strong top end of Worrall, Tungate and Heeps and I think it's a very balanced side which is fully capable of making the end of season play offs.

I can't imagine Louis wouldn't want him at Ipswich, we've seen the difference a 2nd season in the PL at the same club can do with Cam Heeps, I understand Adam had said that he second hand bikes last year which let him down from time to time and next year he is getting new bikes - so with his 1st season of PL racing under his belt on inconsistent machinery I'm sure Louis wouldn't want another club to reap the benefits. Plus on his current average he's certain to increase that by 1-2 points come this time next year.

Because he was unlucky in that he had a decent average and was performing well but then took a bad injury which sidelined him for a long time, when he came back he was struggling for form - understandable given his injury - but not really enough meetings to get his average down to a more realistic one. Good rider, good guy to have round the team.

Pretty sure Scott would be way too high - how about Kennett? What's his PL average at the moment?

Welcome "back" SB, Personally I think you starting a new thread after the old one was removed without any explanation is understandable but I've kind of outlined my thoughts on that in an earlier post. I don't mind if Aljack/Jackal comes back - all opinions are welcomed whether they are against the grain or not, but his were spiteful and vindictive towards certain members of the Witches promotion and started going towards some of the forum members and they contained very little speedway value, it was always personal digs. I don't know - or care - if he's been banned and if he has anything to do with the 2013 thread being deleted but it does seem a coincidence that both events have taken place in the same time frame. Anyway - onto speedway matters, do we think the 6pt gap in the cup semi final with Edinburgh is too much to overturn at home? Should we do it fairly comfortably or will it be down to the last few heats? Personally I'm going for the latter, I can see Edinburgh doing what they can to pack 2nd and 3rd for most races and letting one witch go and team riding out the other, our boys will need to have their gating gloves and overtaking pants on I think! EDIT: I didn't start this thread, my above post was actually a reply to the away leg thread but a cowardly anonymous admin has taken the above post out of that thread (and there by lost some of the reference points contain within it) and used it to start a thread - under my name and without me being informed - about the second leg. The tapes have been doing it for a little while, if you look the posts that hold the tapes up lean in towards each other, it seems they've moved from however they're secured and the tapes are pulling them together creating some slack in the middle - looks like they need some wedges placed so the posts go more outward/upright to tighten the elastic. The track looked very deep and heavy as I mentioned in my texts to the Updates site, obviously with a hot dry day it had to be watered heavily, it then seems that with little breeze in the air the track didn't dry out as much as hoped? I also said to the people I go with about heat two, only two riders were "racing" - the Ipswich pair. The only thing I can think of for the exclusion of Ashworth was that Ellis went down as a result of first bend bunching and the ref would of allowed all four back, but after Ashworth knocked Lanham off decided he should of been excluded for that action? It's all I can come up with as we were all as confused as the next person on the terraces, and as I reported last night - the Berwick fans were rightfully unhappy with the decision, certainly seemed a strange one to me. I'd like to hear the ref's explanation for it.

Can only beat what's put infront of you, tonight it was a one man team - Kozza Smith plus 6 others. Hopefully they were more productive than his on track performance, he was dire to be honest.

Where has any Witches fan, rider or promoter said that Ben was innocent? Please, feel free to quote them. Ben was fined along with Craig for the scuffle - everybody has acknowledged that (almost), that scuffle wasn't the reason Cook was kicked out of the meeting though. You mention provocation, again, I think we all can say with certainty that Barker did say something to Cook - Cook was the one that took the bait though and as a result handed us the place in the final. If it helps try and break it down into two sections: Part 1) The fight, started when Ben allegedly said something to Craig, Craig responded by hitting Ben in the back of the head. The ref saw it all and punished both riders with the same fine. Part 2) Cook didn't accept his fine, kept going on at the ref. The ref took BOTH riders and managers into a dressing room to try and defuse the situation so the meeting could continue as programmed, Cook didn't calm down, kept swearing at the ref in protest of the fine and eventually kicked a heater off the wall. This is what led Cook to be kicked out - and something he acknowledges was the correct thing to do as it may of boiled over on to the track. So to summarize. Both riders are guilty of part 1 and were punished accordingly. Cook was the only one guilty of part 2 and his punishment was to be excluded from the meeting, in this part Barker was the innocent party.

Apart from when you defend to the hilt things that you're wrong about - Cook being thrown out of the meeting for example.
