  1. And what exactly does that mean ?
  2. Just got back, great weekend bit tired now though.Well done Workington deserved winners on the night, I especially liked the way that even though they were guaranteed the title when Auty fell they still rode a fast race to get first and second, well done.Roynon looked very sharp and impressive, which is nice for him after all his injury woes, after the poor showing of the Brits in the GP ( embarrassingly outclassed imo),he may be a bright light on the horizon. As for the Rebels well, the usual I`m afraid , the "second String" of the pair wasn`t consistent enough , so when Wrighty missed the start it was no points, for him.Doyley was frantically trying to slow the semi to get him into third, whilst keeping an eye on Roynon, but you never felt comfortable that Wrighty would get past.Top riders on the night apart from the Comets pair were Josh and Jorgy, Kauko, Baby Bjerre ( love it when he misses the start!), Doyley and Tully who surprised me. On a personal note great to see Statto, Naj, Mark and Di again, but somehow managed to miss Dave T( don`t know how he`s big enough!).

    Ipswich 2012

Yawn, he is and still is a Somerset asset, why would he want to ride for you, anyone else left that Ippo could have or should have signed at the start of the season. I`d say he `s done pretty well with the decisions he`s made, both his teams are top of their respective divisions.

Well said cat2, I don`t believe all that "Only riding for Poole crap" either.

    Vissing In Masters Out

He did indeed, his last four home scores are 11,10, 12 and paid 10, whereas his away scores have been poor, see my point about the remaining fixtures. ps If you are going Friday I`ll see you in the bar. Ha ha nice one

Old Timer have you ever been optimistic in your life, I doubt it. How can you say that the decision to drop Sam means we will not win the league. It must have took a lot of soul searching to release Sam,and not an easy call for Bish and the rest. I was fortunate enough to be at Sam`s debut at Rye, not the easiest place to kick your British career off and he was outstanding, and excited everyone who was there. He was an ever present last year and held the team together sometimes on his own. This season has been different, injuries have held him back, loads more travelling around Europe, regular meetings at Poole, where much is expected of him, imo have affected him.How many times has he been in front and been passed this year, an unheard of occurrence last term. I like Sam, always have,he will bounce back and I would have him back next season like a shot if he was available. I think Bish and co are looking at the run in, only one more away fixture to go for the JBM bashers, but three home . Sam still has U 21 fixtures to fulfil where he will missing again. The big ask is how will Claus perform, but that is the gamble, he was ok last time he came back after injury, and the present injury was not his fault. I hope the Rebels can pick something up this season, unbeaten at home so far,and best away record in the division. For the record I don`t think we will win the Pairs, but I would love to see us pick up the league or the league cup.
  8. It chucked it down last season aswell, but they managed to get through the meeting,it played into Glasgow`s hands that night, Screeny was great and I think that is probably the best Grieves has ever ridden at the OTA.
  9. Ouch ! Mind you on the plus side the swelling may partially interest Mrs DB momentarily, still I think I need to drag this thread out of the gutter and back on topic. Plymouth and Leicester from Group 1 Somerset and Scunny from Group 2 Scunny v Leicester in the final. Top riders on the night , Doyle, Baby Bjerre, Jorgy, Cory.
  10. Ha ha, maybe, enjoy yourselves, have you packed your best dresses and mankinis ?
  11. Yeah, sorry about that DB,just didn`t pick it up.Sorry you are not going as you know I don`t really get the time ( or the cash) to get down that often so when I am down it`s always good to see old friends and occasionally meet strange new ones. Going away myself on the 6th Sept for two weeks, but I will try to look in and see how The Rebels are doing on the updates site.
  12. From reports I get from my friends down there who go every week, and like you from the descriptions we get from the updates on the quality of the racing. I will be able to see for myself first hand on Friday, you going?
  13. I`d have a shilling on Aspergren in the old red and blue next season, if Sam and Jason take the expected move "down" to the Elite League.Nice cameo from him last night.
  14. Not that it`s particularly relevant , it`s 28C in Watford and has been baking all day, can`t believe that 150 odd miles down the road it`s pi**ing down.
  15. So lets get this straight,we can have two proper reserves and is it R/R for Sam or is it another guest again?

    Rye House 2012

Sorry to hear Jordan has decided to retire. I have to admit i was amazed that he signed for Rye in the first place, having seen a lot of him in his break through year in 2008, it was a strange move to go to a place that seem to nullify all he was good at. Gating was never one of his strong points, but coming back from behind was, a tactic that is extremely difficult at Rye if you miss the start. Maybe the idea was to improve his gating, but who knows.I hope he thinks about his decision, he is still young and has talent and maybe a change of scenery will help him. It`s a bit of a kick in the n**ts for the Rye fans, just walking out like that, I know how you feel having experienced that with Boxall. I hope the new Dane turns out to be ok, never heard of though, mind you not many had heard of Sundstrom.
  17. I have to say this years line up looks especially strong, maybe another different winner again, testament to the quality of the Rebels track now back at it`s best.
  18. Just got in , I have to say I`m disappointed that the Rebels didn`t get into the final. Sorry that`s a poor performance.I very rarely criticise the team but we should have at least qualified for the final, Bish needs to give the boys a gee up after this imo, or a promising season will end up in the skip.
  19. When Barker was interviewed I bet it went something like this. " Well, you know I think I`m doing ok and you know the fish is right up there, you know., and you never know if Cory can get some you know , big you know points , and Toddy can you know surprise a few you know people , you never know we might just nick it.......................................you know..".............

Top 10 Riders On Current Form

Doyle has been absolute quality this year for both Somerset and Swindon. I`m pleased for him after his injury woes over the last couple of seasons. It`s strange to think that at the beginning of last season nobody had signed him!

    Plymouth 2012

One of my all time favourites at the OTA,and it was sad to see him not push on last season.I hope he does well , however I`m not sure a small track suits his style, gating not being one of his strong points as I said when there was a rumour he may go to Rye.One thing he will not do is quit if the going gets tough.

    Plymouth 2012

So Boxall`s done another runner, and been replaced by Cory, was there a text this time????I really do not understand him,he does have a talent, but obviously something isn`t quite right "upstairs". I think he will really struggle to get fixed up now, that`s Somerset ( who loaned him his equipment) Uncle Len ( who preferred him to Doyle for some reason ) and now the Devils who offered him a route back, all been let down badly. I think it`s back to being a gas fitter for him, probibly best for all concerned.

    Rye House 2012

Might be wrong but I`m not sure Cory would be too keen on Rye`s tight strip, gating is not one of his strong points.

    Rye House 2012

Better RACING will provide bigger gates imo, no matter what anyone tries to tell you it is still a big gate and go track at Rye which would not change whoever turns up to race.I personally think it needs to be wider especially on the straights, which are very narrow,I don`t think I ever seen three abreast there, too scary. We often discuss whether the track could be widened by using the dog track which I think is not used any more.It may cost the Rockets a bit of home advantage to begin with, but I believe once they are bedded in the racing would improve. For what it is worth I would certainly make more visits.

    Here`s a little teaser for you Rockets,although it`s a bit late now I think,Cory for Luke......
