Hi Elmo, thanks for the response. Do you have any idea when the tickets would be on sale. We will be travelling so don’t want any hiccups. Cheers.

Is Leicester Speedway tickets or pay at the door ?

You miss the point mate it’s always gonna be noisy, but not in the row in front of me. Quiet zone don’t mean “quiet “ it means no klaxons.

First meeting I’ve been to since 2019 and first meeting since my club Somerset closed.
Dreadful waste of money. “Racing” consisted of about three or four decent heats the rest strung out. Thank goodness Wrighty missed the gate a few times. Nicholls and Summers for a home pair were embarrassing. Only beat two reserves from Plymouth. I know there were injuries, but come on , surely the teams could have put on a better show than that. When I think of some of the great Pairs meets we used to have at the OTA, pre Cardiff, it makes you fear for the future of speedway.
The next day carried onto Cardiff, and another crock of crap. Thank goodness for Dan and a few others. I will certainly not be doing the GP next year along with all the others who didn’t show up. £65 for a seat in the quiet zone and there was two bell ends on the klaxons the whole meeting, pathetic.
oh and £7.20 for a hot dog , no thanks.- 1

Berwick - Harris and Etheridge
Birmingham - Sedgmen and Nielsen (Auty and Vissing unavailable i presume)
Edinburgh - Masters and Pickering
Glasgow - Cook and Basso
Leicester - Morris and Howarth
Oxford - Nicholls and Batchelor
Plymouth - Barker and Andersen
Poole - Worrall and King
Redcar - Wright and Kerr
Scunthorpe - Douglas and Allen
Quite a tough one to call. I’d go with Edinburgh to win. Sam and Josh both going well atm.
Minor places Poole and Glasgow .

Final: S/F winners.
23 Heats in all.
4-3-2-0 Scoring.
I’m guessing groups haven’t been decided yet. That means programmes can’t be printed. It’s all being left a bit too late imo.

I’ve rung them several times ….. always get “beep beep beep” cancelled call !?
It looks like tickets for home team meetings go on sale a week before the fixture.
Can you imagine what will happen if they put the tickets up the week before. I shall be extremely annoyed if this goes pear shaped. I also have received no response to my e mail.

Sorry I have to say this typical , once again of Speedway in this country not looking out for the supporters. The meeting is a month away and still no ticket info. What about all the travelling supporters, we must all be in the same situation regarding hotels!!!.
Pathetic.
E mailed Sunday no reply today.

Understand that completely. However just put it on here to see if other people are concerned as well. Never had this sort of carry on at Somerset which was a great venue and always ran the event brilliantly. I shall be getting in touch with Oxford next week anyway.

Getting a bit concerned now about no news of tickets for sale. I’ve booked accommodation for the night which I can cancel with no penalty up to one month before the date ( July 12th ). After that day I lose the lot if I can’t get a ticket.

Still waiting for Championship Pairs tickets at Oxford. Preferred pay at the gate at the OTA rather than a late scramble for tickets .
-
Excellent signing def makes Cheetahs stronger. Another ex Rebel along with Summers, they know how to win things.
Probably go in at 3 with Summers at 4. Strong middle order at last.
-
Should be an easy win for the Cheetahs. Scotty should be untroubled and Troy will be disappointed not to get double figures. Another chance for Heeps to show some form. 50-40 for me.
-
Oxfords engine room not good enough at the moment. Heeps and Newman need to help out more.

Just trying to get myself sorted for the GP weekend and I notice that the CL Pairs is not listed on the Speedway GB fixtures for August. Can anyone confirm that the 12th August at Oxford is correct. Thanks in advance.

So I am now going to follow Oxford as my new club after the closing of Somerset.
Couldn’t bring myself to follow any of the other Championship clubs so a new club is right up my street. Double bonus it’s a lot closer. Still a good hours run for me, but hey, speedway again, can’t wait.

Make it Somerset this season as usual. Why change it, at least there won’t be any home bias whinging . Something for the Swindon and Somerset supporters to attend this season.

The two main snippets to take from the interview was that he was determined and adamant that Somerset will be back. He also seemed very positive about Somerset still hosting the pairs this year if they’re allowed to do so and offered the chance. Great news on both fronts.
That would be brilliant, if allowed I’d be there like a shot.

Although you didn’t turn a wheel for us, good luck Ben Barker at Newcastle this year.

If a club like Somerset who are a well run club with all their own facilities in place cannot make a go of it, I fear for speedway in general in this country. Maybe next season the Rebels can start afresh in the National league, see how it goes.
-
What a choker, been there from the start. Really hope the Rebs are back in 22. I feel for the guys who have been there helping and running things right from the start. Tbf I can’t see there being any speedway in this country next year. Hopefully the GP’s will happen again.

Provided he can stay injury free, I always thought of him as a solid signing. Coming from an ex Somerset supporter I can tell you guys you’re in for a hell of a ride. Your set up reminds a lot of the Rebels in the early days. Enjoy it , and hope something just doesn’t come from nowhere ( in our case Covid) and smashes it. All the best for the new season.
