  1. Provided he can stay injury free, I always thought of him as a solid signing. Coming from an ex Somerset supporter I can tell you guys you’re in for a hell of a ride. Your set up reminds a lot of the Rebels in the early days. Enjoy it , and hope something just doesn’t come from nowhere ( in our case Covid) and smashes it. All the best for the new season.

  2. First meeting I’ve been to since 2019 and first meeting since my club Somerset closed.

Dreadful waste of money. “Racing” consisted of about three or four decent heats the rest strung out. Thank goodness Wrighty missed the gate a few times. Nicholls and Summers for a home pair were embarrassing. Only beat two reserves from Plymouth. I know there were injuries, but come on , surely the teams could have put on a better show than that. When I think of some of the great Pairs meets we used to have at the OTA, pre Cardiff, it makes you fear for the future of speedway.

The next day carried onto Cardiff, and another crock of crap. Thank goodness for Dan and a few others. I will certainly not be doing the GP next year along with all the others who didn’t show up. £65 for a seat in the quiet zone and there was two bell ends on the  klaxons the whole meeting, pathetic.
oh and £7.20 for a hot dog , no thanks.

So if we're going by the August Greensheets the Line-ups should be (Top 2 each team injury permitting)

    Berwick - Harris and Etheridge

Birmingham - Sedgmen and Nielsen (Auty and Vissing unavailable i presume)

    Edinburgh - Masters and Pickering

    Glasgow - Cook and Basso

    Leicester - Morris and Howarth

    Oxford - Nicholls and Batchelor

    Plymouth - Barker and Andersen

    Poole - Worrall and King

    Redcar - Wright and Kerr

    Scunthorpe - Douglas and Allen

Quite a tough one to call. I’d go with Edinburgh to win. Sam and Josh both going well atm.
Minor places Poole and Glasgow .
    Oxford dark horses.

I emailed Oxford last Wednesday  …… no reply as yet.

I’ve rung them several times ….. always get “beep beep beep” cancelled call !?

It looks like tickets for home team meetings go on sale a week before the fixture.

Can you imagine what will happen if they put the tickets up the week before. I shall be extremely annoyed if this goes pear shaped. I also have received no response to my e mail.

I don't mean any disrespect. But I feel putting this issue on an open public forum is not going to help you at all. Can I suggest that you make contact with the BSPA and/or Oxford speedway direct as they will be the only ones who can possibly assist you with this.

Understand that completely. However just put it on here to see if other people are concerned as well. Never had this sort of carry on at Somerset which was a great venue and always ran the event brilliantly. I shall be getting in touch with Oxford next week anyway.

Listened to the radio link shared on Facebook earlier on that included a short interview with Garry May. The two main snippets to take from the interview was that he was determined and adamant that Somerset will be back. He also seemed very positive about Somerset still hosting the pairs this year if they’re allowed to do so and offered the chance. Great news on both fronts.

That would be brilliant, if allowed I’d be there like a shot.

  7. What a choker, been there from the start. Really hope the Rebs are back in 22. I feel for the guys who have been there helping and running things right from the start. Tbf I can’t see there being any speedway in this country next year. Hopefully the GP’s will happen again.
