Redcar V Rye House 19th June - Off

Much as I would like to defend my club - I have to agree

    Belle Vue V Lakeside 9/6/14

Absolutely no chance of an early rain off - just look how long they waited on Saturday. Will be desperate to get the meeting on
  3. As it is Morley guesting that suggests no facility for Aspgren, probably at a Swedish meeting, so if Morris is absent almost certainly there will be a guest

    Suchanek To Redcar?

Interesting - where has this info come from?

    Chris Mills Axed

When I read all reports on Mills going and Lambert being signed I get the impression Mills was ditched with no replacement in mind seem a strange scenario to a neutral, am I wide of the mark here or was there an underlying issue with Mills??

    Malcolm Simmons Rip

RIP Simmo - a true English speedway legend
  7. If Bears have points to accommodate I think he is a certainty - however I fear we may be just short and have to look elsewhere. For Diamonds fans - start panicking about Sunday, if you lost to the Bears by being outgated, then Witches are in for a field day as they totally outgated us last night and have two very strong reserves!! Plus a certain R Worrall in the team !!

    Newcastle Drop Rosen....

As I said previously IF Lambert had been eligible then King/Lambert would have strengthened Diamonds no doubt - as for your 14 points (King 11, Lambert 3) you would be getting a return IMO of around 16 (King 9, Lambert 7), plus the "big hitter" everyone is shouting for, also you have the bonus of Lambert getting extra rides, HOWEVER as someone made a monumental %^&*-up in not looking at rules you have only 11-12 points return (King 9, Greenwood 2-3) and have Rose pushed into team. So it's now back to drawing board and looking to when changes can be made again. Ignoring everyones opinions about rolling averages, I think the big flaw is that an established rider who has a full season's racing behind him does not move very quickly up or down on the greensheets, and on the flip side of that a new rider can change quite dramatically, I doubt anyone expects King to achieve his 11 average, realistically he should be about a 9, so you may get 2 points there, Rose is the other one whose average may change rapidly, but he has moved up and would have to be scoring 1s & 2s for it to drop down, so again you may get your half point or so, I guess Lindgren may drop, but he is an enigma and may go up, also Kerr is likely to rise not fall, Schamm will be getting extra rides against other reserves so should do ok and Robson is looking like increasing as well, but as my initial point all this will be gradual. I think you may be looking at overall 2.5 drop, BUT overall average is already over 1 point above limit so this is only 1.5 net fall and that would only allow 4.5 rider, may push Rose back to reserve but another weak rider in main body!! All crystal ball stuff, who knows King may struggle and only get 7 average then you have heaps of points, may even get Henry/Rosen back in, but if King is that low, then May/June will have been a nightmare and will be a long way to catch up! For those optimists Greenwood may become a 4.5 rider and King may hit 10 and George will be saying "told you so" We shall wait and see!!
  9. Well said - if it were a good team Diamonds might not have got 30
  10. It was announced at Redcar on Thursday - very reliable source "our" centre green announcer!. Didn't actually say who he was guesting for, just that he was guesting - maybe Skidmore is ill
  11. Liam Carr in for Newcastle on Sunday

    Newcastle Drop Rosen....

And just to add even if you try to exploit any "loophole" it will be slammed shut by the rule which states: "The BSPA MC monitors all proposed moves and has the sole responsibility to approve all (re-)Declared Team Line-Ups having been satisfied they are in the best interests of the sport" Now please stop putting fanciful ideas into Diamonds mind, he should be revising :nono:

    Newcastle Drop Rosen....

Which new rule are you referring to? Please let me know a rule that refers to double down, because I haven't found one. Richie Worral is a Belle Vue asset, Richard Lawson is a Lakeside asset, Ty Proctor is a Wolves asset - three examples all of whom are doubling UP. Forget Lambert he isn't allowed to double up, down or sideways if it results in being in a teams declared 1-7 in both PL & EL simultaneously, this season. As from today you are over points limit so if any rider were to be replaced you only have that average to work with, therefore in answering your question Schramm's replacement would be a rider up to 4.00 If in the future king dropped by 2 points say to 9.18 (and everyone else remained exactly the same) you would only have 0.87 to add to any riders average to get a replacement, as you would then have to get to 42.50, so again using Schramm you could replace with a rider on 4.87
  14. If meeting is cancelled then keep your fingers crossed King doesn't pick up an injury before making an appearance in Diamonds colours - that would totally ruin masterplan - having a NL 3 pointer at number 1!!!

    Newcastle Drop Rosen....

No such thing as what???? To double up you have by definition to be in PL so that is your "main club" who get priority if neither club owns rider, check out averages there are no "dd" next to riders in Pl, but "du" is used in EL. Therefore as the Scunny Bullet is explaining - rider has to have a PL team and is then declared in EL team (even if he was already in that team) and then all rules apply as stated. Wolves will have had to redeclare team with Ty Procor changing from a EL rider to a "doubling up" rider and now he has du next to his name.

    Newcastle Drop Rosen....

The clue is in the title it is about doubling up to Elite, not doubling down to Premier

    Newcastle Drop Rosen....

Interesting move by Diamonds, obviously masterplan was king and lambert which on paper would have been a big improvement, now it's king and a 3 pointer the jurys out for me as to whether it gives the impact Newcastle fans would be looking for. However at least it will give TWK the number 1 he wanted
  18. The only acceptable reason for having a facility (r/r) for Roynon on Saturday would be that he was " in dispute with his club" in these cases dispute has to be accepted by Management Committee and they should then determine the "period of the riders inactivity" Theoretically as this was agreed on Saturday this period of inactivity should have been known on Saturday!! So it should be clear whether a facility is in place for tonight. I don't know how contract system works, but I would assume that at some point Roynon is officially released from Sheffield's "control" and is available to pursue employment elsewhere, if this has happened then he can't be "in dispute" with a club he has no ties to?? The plot thickens!
  19. Regardless of whether it is legitimate or not, does nobody think the honourable action is to keep the guest (who may have turned down other work, spent time getting machinery ready etc.) and abide by the agreement/contract in place for them to ride for your team. In this example speaking hypothetically - if I were Ricky Wells I may be reluctant to help out Somerset in the future if I had been dropped at last minute. No problem replacing r/r with a rider available, but there seems to be too many decisions recently which are just a slap in the face to various riders - I don't agree totally with TWK's contract issue, but I agree loyalty should work both ways!!
  20. Lindgren - riding like a true number 1 - TWK will be drooling (and not for the usual reasons )
  21. So, just after the reverse fixture at Brough Park Diamonds fans would be feeling confident about this match and Bears fans apprehensive,,,now a week later Redcar have had two thumping wins and looked very convincing while Newcastle have had two defeats and the less patient fans are already calling for changes Of course the standard of the opposition in each case could be a contributing factor, but it all adds up to an interesting clash, with the added intrigue of a potential new Bear riding at no 4. I think it will be a close meeting, Diamonds always go well round STMP, and result could hinge on which Lindgren turns up, the one who rode like Freddie a couple of times last season, or the one who resembled Dolph Lundgren also have Diamonds got their machine issues sorted. Hopefully a good track again and a safe meeting, hope our centregreen man doesn't gets too confused over his allegiances!! Likely teams: Bears 1. Richard Lawson 2. Carl Wilkinson 3. Hugh Skidmore 4. r/r (or ????) 5. Aaron Summers 6. Jan Graversen 7. Luke Crang Diamonds 1. Freddie/Dolph Lindgren 2. Christian Henry 3. Stuart Robson 4. Lewis Kerr 5. Anton Rosen 6. Chris Schramm 7. Lewis Rose

Redcar V Newcastle (lc) Thursday 10th April

Thanks for genuine reply - I did have you down as one of the more sensible posters. I was also surprised at lack of pace Rosen showed, last season Bears couldn't catch him , last night he was caught, passed and then left behind, but it is early days - maybe too much expectation has been placed on him. Don't knock mid-table seasons, I would have grabbed some of those in years gone by

If you classify biting as responding to a totally inaccurate post which gives a false impression of the evening - guilty as charged. I didn't have you down as a poster who played silly games such as that

Redcar V Newcastle (lc) Thursday 10th April

I must have been watching a different meeting aswell Ht 3 Skiddy inside Kerr coming off bend 2 and then up inside Ht 4 Summers chased and passed Rosen Ht 7 Graversen chased and passed Kerr Ht 9 Schramm chased and passed Wilko Ht 10 Lawson 3rd going into bends 3 & 4 on 1st lap, leading coming down home straight Ht 13 Summers round Rosen on bends 3 & 4 There were numerous other instances of riders "overtaking" on first two bends having missed the gate Which were the two "genuine" overtakes and why not the others? I do agree about Rose he scored more than you would expect from a rookie number 7 and looked on the pace, did remind me of Kerr when he came to STMP at beginning of last season, although perhaps not as polished and quick. Big problem for Diamonds last night was that bottom three scorers on both sides Newcastle won 9-8, yet Redcar won by 20!! Serious lack of heat winners and in bottom three were nos 1 & 5, I'm afraid it was Dolph who rode at 1 only beating Bears riders who fell (although ahead at the time).
