Ellis Perks does ride for Wolves on Monday night. Comments on the official site suggest he may be being looked at as a longer term replacement for Mark Riss, who may still be some way off a return.

Swindon Robins Vs Wolves (29-6-17)

Howarth's average is 6.79. (Green sheet issue 15.) Danny King's average is 6.72. I do however agree, there is a potential advantage to Wolves here. A telling fact is that Kyle (who has had a very good start to the season) is Wolves' 5th highest average rider whereas Danny King is Leicester's number two. As you know, selecting a guest can often give you an advantage if you can choose well but can also put you at a disadvantage if the choice is extremely limited. No two riders are exactly the same, although I did see Ivan Mauger guest for Wolves once in the absence of Ole Olsen and the outcome was exactly as you might have expected. -
Max Clegg confirmed as Mark Riss' replacement against King's Lynn.

Given your well known opinion of Stevebrum and the frequency of your posts concerning him, it would appear that you do suffer fools both gladly and often.

Rye House are at Leicester at 2pm. Certainly possible for Harris to get to Monmore on time but not ideal from a Poole point of view. Otherwise Belle Vue and King's Lynn only teams not in action. My pennyworth would be a phone call to Kenneth Bjerre. -
Haven't heard from Col lately.

Also confirmed on Wolves' site.

Somerset V Wolves Friday 5th May 19;30

Food for thought. Two of my favourite tracks in the 70s were Hyde Rd and Saddlebow Rd. I did wonder more than once which fans (in some seasons ) enjoyed the more exciting racing. I am thinking of a number of years when Belle Vue had all conquering teams but enjoyed very many landslide home wins. Scores over 50 were very regular. I watched Wolves there many times and a score of 26 was comprised Olsen 15, Hunter 5 then 2, 1 etc. The racing was not brilliant. King's Lynn on the other hand won nothing but saw close results and, presumably, closer racing. I guess in an ideal world you would have both. But speedway has never existed in such a place. One further comment on last night: I wont be the only Wolves fan who can remember teams in the past with more than three guests! -

I quite agree. I was thinking of going to the OTA next week to follow my team, Wolves. But presumably no Sam Masters and Mark Riss. So why bother? -
Olsen taking the Golden Helmet from Ivan in 1971 was the first match race I saw. Ole lost it later that year when he was unable to defend it due to injury. If memory serves, Ken McKinlay inherited it at Oxford. Ironically, Ole regained the Helmet at season's end in identical circumstances. In later years, the hardest I saw him ride was against Phil Crump in a third leg at King's Lynn when the format changed. It was the very early days of Phil's 4 valve engine and he was probably quicker than Olsen..... but lost. Perhaps, in essence, why some riders reach the pinnacle of the sport. Great memories in any case.

You should check the facts before posting such sweeping statements.Thorsell had four rides at Poole, scoring 8 points. Masters also had four rides, scoring 6 plus one bonus. 'Awful'? Not really.
-
43 points plus 6 bonus were their combined totals across the four meetings. (Remember Thorsell missed the home leg against Poole.)Or, if you prefer, they both averaged 7 points overall. Perhaps you and I have different definitions of 'drivel'.

Lindgren in 2016 rides in Poland's second tier, not the Extraliga. So it does not apply. He has ridden in three countries' leagues for years.

Wolverhampton V Poole: El Play-off Semi-final 2nd Leg

I just wonder how some would react if at about 7pm tonight it transpired that Sam Masters had a medical note to cover an old injury aggravated at Ipswich and Wolves had booked Chris Harris as a last minute guest. All within the rules, just Wolves doing 'every thing they can to put themselves in a position of trying to win all of the time'. -

According to the Wolves site, Kyle Newman takes his place in the Poole side. -
Ironic perhaps that Wolves have just posted details of their 2016 online shop. Not the first year either.
-
I would much prefer PK to be an honoured rider at next season's Olympique. A one off appearance at the (probable) very end of his career would draw fans in and allow the club to pay tribute to one of its' very, very best servants. No pressure to 'improve your average', just a final chance to applaud a true hero. And he can bring his brother back : he was magnificent as well.

I think their problem might be 'Coventry v Wolves' in terms of 15 heats of something 'elite'. Sorry: cheap and easy shot.
