Workington v Redcar 20/04/24 3pm BSN
sidewinder replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think that whatever material had been on the track, was beginning to disappear, after that. Charles Wright was even struggling and trying to make changes after 2 races. -
Workington v Redcar 20/04/24 3pm BSN

I believe, it was the first meeting, for the new track curation team and judging by the * slickness* of the track, it was a long way from what the riders, are used to. -
Redcar v Scunthorpe - 19/4/2024, BSN Series

Needs to be a marked improvement Dave, from the majority of the team. Unless that happens, all I can see, as you say, is a straight forward Scorpions win. -
Point taken, with regard to the injuries. I'm taking the positive view, that they will recover, well. Any way I don't expect Connor Coles not to have been snapped up.

Team I would like to see at Redcar, next season. Hope I have got the averages right, with British reductions Danny King 8.41 Charles Wright 7.80 Thom Jorgensen 6.30 Connor Bailey 5.22 Jason Edwards 4.55 Jake Mulford 3.06 Connor Coles 2.63 Equals 37.97

Would love Luke at Redcar, but from what I hear, he's going elsewhere.

Hodder, allegedly, at Berwick. Harrison believed to be at Scunny.

Redcar v Scunthorpe KO Cup Semi Final (2nd Leg) 06/10/23

For most of the meeting, it was as difficult, as I have seen it, in a long while. Do not no why that was. -
KOC SF: Scunny v Redcar 29.09

Agree Yerbs. Can only see, an easy Scorpions win. A stroll around the EWR for scunny. Bears might get 30, but leave second leg irrelevant. -

Yeah, the same could be said, for several of the Bears riders and how quickly, they get into the meeting. -

Some of the Berwick fans, were saying that, before our visit there and it didn't happen. I think it will be a tight match, just like at Berwick. -
Scunthorpe vs Redcar KOC Semi Final 14/15 July
sidewinder replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So how come, Redcar raced against Poole on a Friday and had an amateur meeting on the Saturday, this season. Earlier in the season, we potentially had Stuart Robson's farewell on a Sunday and Redcar v Newcastle on a Friday in the same week. Loads of other instances, over recent years, It seems to me, that if its in the lease its not enforced. -
Scunthorpe vs Redcar KOC Semi Final 14/15 July

You need to get your facts right. As Fortythirtyeight said Redcar have an excellent relationship with the council. In fact in 2021 they ran 3 matches in a week. Redcar can run any day, any time, as long as it does not contravene the curfew. -

Can't argue with that. Scunthorpe could probably win both legs. -

Anders, a long way off the best gater, in the championship, but should be very good from the back. Especially against our tail. -
Scunny v Redcar 02.06.2023 league
sidewinder replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Charles Wright, did have his worst meeting, at the EWR, but because he was struggling to get a set up that worked, as were most of the bears, (Connor Bailey excepted). You could see he was spinning up and struggling for traction out of the starts and out on track. Whatever set up he had used previously, didn't apply last night. I have long believed, that there is a trick to the set up at Scunny (its surface and material are not like, a lot of other tracks) and Rory Schlien alluded to this on BSN commentary, when he said it was a big secret, with Ryan Douglas. -
There's some truth in what you are saying, (not sure Jake will come that good). The weakness of the second strings and reserves, has been apparent from the start. This problem is compounded, because of the starts situation. Gates 2 and especially 4 are currently so dominant. When Redcar are on these gates, they don't have a second rider, to take advantage of the situation, whereas Poole very often maxed it when the roles were reversed. The first thing that should happen, is to try and even up the gates.

Poole Vs Redcar BSN SF 1st leg 17th May

It's far from over. Poole in with a decent shot still. The way most of their riders, go round the Ecco arena, they could win this leg. -
Redcar v Birmingham BSN 6th May
sidewinder replied to Norfolk Bear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes. Midland Development League, Redcar v Brummies. Followed by 125 competition. -
I like that, but I suspect he's already had a call. I have been saying from the get go, this season, that the tail, was woefully weak. This applies especially at Redcar (example Danyon Hume 4 matches, prior to this season, 15 rides 12 points ) hardly startling pedigree. Connor Bailey has only had 1meeting at Redcar (from memory) didn't score much. Jake Mulford only been once before (from memory) and Jeffo might be right about his suitability. If we persist with these riders, (not saying we shouldn't) then they have to grasp the nettle, roll their sleeves up and come out fighting.
