Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Just wondering if any of the Polish fans(or anyone who keeps up with the Polish news) could possibly keep a record of the latest news form Poland?

Thanks

CM

Greg Hancock in Lotos !

It is Greg Hancock not Bjarne Pedersen as reported earlier that will ride as the foreign rider for Lots Gdańsk. Greg, who was the World Champion in 1997, last season rode for Atlas Wrocław which he had to separate under rather unpleasant circumstances. Herbie's, as he is nicknamed, last year's Ekstraliga heat average was 2,11 placing him tenth in the league. The Lotos coach claims that another senior rider is to be hired by the Gdańsk team as the team is slowly shaping up.

Are you sure he has a contract with Zielona Gora ?

If so, when was it signed ?

I heared he had signed about a year or two ago for three

years...

Polish teams will be completed on 31-st however Tarnow

has already kept their main riders (Rickardsson, Gollobs, Kolodziej).

I think Czestochowa can reach the top this year as Drabik

came back after couple of years. I am just not sure if Holta

has signed.

Official polish speedway season traditionally starts with Aces Criterion meeting at the end of the march in Bydgoszcz. This year the meeting will be staged on March 28th. First league meetings then start the following weekend, on April 3rd.

Swedish season usually starts at the end of April or at the beginning of May. This year first round of swedish elite league will be staged on April 26th.

Great to hear Foxy has got himself a team place in Poland.

I hope the Bydgoszcz faithful still give him the hero's welcome when he races in the colours of arch-rivals Torun :P

Rico

Seems Dawid Kujawa wont ride in Poland but will only ride as a squad member for a Swedish club.

Can any Polish fans tell me what went wrong in Dawids Kujawa's speedway career and how he won the WU21 final in Peterborough and cannot get a full team place in POland now?
