Interested to see that Bruce Cribb, now in his 60th year, gave a demonstration ride on his ice racing bike at his home town track at Palmerston North on Friday.

The greatest non-European ice racer?

Could very well be so, since there have not been many non-European ice racers, except for some Mongolians, one Canadian and a couple os U.S.Americans. Pity Cribb rode under the British flag (ACU) in his ice racing days. Why is it that there are no other Kiwis, or perhaps some Aussies taking up ice-racing. Would be really cool ! :D

Why does that prospect make me think of the Olympic Jamaican bobsleigh team?

Jason Bunyan has made it a threepeat. claiming his 3rd NZ title consecutavely, Apparently he had to work for it after making a poor start and working the outside line to claim the win.

1st J Bunyan

2nd M Carpenese

3rd D Tessari

The winner take all final was outstanding. He did have to work hard for it, the title looked like it was going to Italy but Bunyan found some dirt and some speed and in an amazing show rode what looked like a couple of inches from the fence to go round the outside of the Italian. Second was Mattia Carpanese, third was Daniele Tessari who just pipped Andrew Bargh on the line.

Great stuff in front of the biggest crowd Rosebank Road has seen for a very long time.

Great news for Jase, I am really happy ....even though he beat the Italians...I'll forgive him as he's a mate!

Looks as though Bunyan's moving to 4 wheels, all his gear's up for sale in NZ, according to www.speedwaybikes.co.nz and he's going Sprintcar racing.

That's really tough competition. The earnings by the top USA drivers match those of Premier League footballers.

Will be interesting to see how Jason does.
