I'll go along with Lunchy and SCB - it's all a little more vitriolic than is really necessary.

 

Surely the issue here is that the future of a track is in jeopardy. I don't know the rights and wrongs of whether the promotion or the riders are to blame - I wasn't there. I do accept that Australians specialise in a perhaps more colourful use of language than might be commonplace in the UK, and I well remember attending a session of the NSW Parliament where members could apparently call each other "scumbags" with impunity. But none of that is going to help Aussie speedway out of the doldrums, is it?

 

Incidentally, I do know Rory Schlein and his parents, and I must say I don't recognise the character who has been described on this thread.

 

Let's hope our friends down under can put all this behind them and get on with the long and proud tradition with which we all associate the term "Australian speedway".

Oh and I'm sure we'll have the Coventry Fairies on in a while telling us all how Rory is a lovely lad and he's been injured and he wouldn't have been the ringleader and yadda yadda yadda..........

Yes, there are THREE sides to every story...lol

 

In hindsight Terry Poole should of prepared the track how he thought best, not MA or a group of riders.

 

There were similar problems during the Under 16 Championship too.

 

Leave the tracks to the host venue to sort out.

i cant make a judgement on the track and of what happened, because clearly i wasnt there.

 

the only thing i can say however in this being my 30 years of supporting speedway is, never never Believe a word a speedway promoter has to say, theres always an alternative spin reason for what they say.

 

i dont think publiclly attacking riders is going to great things for the future of the sport at that venue... or was that the idea?

 

having condemed half the aussie speedway riders, due you really think they would want to ride there again?

 

as i said i dont know what really happened, but i always look for alterio motives where speedway promoters are concerened, they dont have a great track recored!

The ref should have insisted that adams and wiltshire go out and test the track then if they said it was OK, then anyone who didnt want to ride should have been replaced the next rider in line.
