No good for people who have to work having a meeting from 2pm is it???  What's the use in that?  Perhaps if someone had bothered to advertise the meeting properly then more people would have been able to organise their time and made a day of it.  We've just had a bank holiday weekend but of course at King's Lynn stock cars and bloody caravan racing take precedent over speedway meetings don't they?

What a farce.

Oh and I don't get the SS anymore, does it mean I have to, to know what events are in the pipeline?

So people that are fortunate enough to be able to attend the practice session should be prevented because others cannot get time off! Sorry I really cannot see any logic in that. Do we cancel the British GP cos some people have to work on Saturday evenings?

Details were announced of the full timetable at last Fridays meeting (oh sorry you didn't go did you) and as has been stated were in the Speedway Star.

As for Stocks and caravan racing over the weekend, it ain't my thing either but what I do know is the profits from it have gone a long way towards the massive stadium improvements at the Norfolk Arena, they haven't interfered with the speedway so I really can't get worked up about them.

Yep saw the other thread, but no offence to who started it, but they look like they suffer from Dyslexia with the topic headline.

If Kennett doesn't get through he will get the wildcard anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Yes all riders should gbe able to ride all tracks so lets hope the top boys go through and a Lynn specialist like Brundle doesn't.

To be honest with you I dont think Brundle will be good enough, Hope he proves me wrong as hes a local lad and a lot of bad luck over the last couple of years with car crashes etc. Good Luck James.

Did I say that?? No! Just pointing out that the majority of fans surely will be at work (not so if lucky enough to be on holiday) and most of the children that go to speedway will still be in school, therefore not giving them the chance of going seeing the whole afternoon's entertainment.

No SL, as you well know already I didn't go Friday, I didn't realise I had to attend every home meeting to qualify to have an opinion on other meetings. :P And as already stated I no longer buy the SS.

Well as long as they take precedence we will no longer see weekend and Bank Holiday speedway meetings at KL as we were able to years ago, and that imo is a great shame.

You know what I mean. :P

I know what sort of meeting I'd rather watch on a Bank Holiday and it isn't a PT one against a very weakened PL team. :P

at last Fridays meeting (oh sorry you didn't go did you)

maybe we had the same enthusiasm for IOW that you had for Newport a few weeks ago Whistle.gif ... don't recal people making such a big deal of it though

I know exactly what you mean. Good Fridays used to be Ipswich double headers. They were something to look forward to. Now we get I.O.W who are prob. the furthest away from us, maybe a double header against mildenhall would have been better. Thats next bank holiday tho. I think.

But fair play to Buster and Jonathon for getting so much Bangers down there, it must be better for them as look at the crowds you get at bangers compared to speedway.

The best bit is the Chapmans arent putting it all in their own pockets, as you can see what they are trying to do. Just take a look at the stadium now compared to 2 years ago, thats why they have been granted a big meeting like tomorrow. and who knows if they carry on getting good money for bangers they can improve the stadium further and then we could have even bigger speedway meetings ( which the track deserves ) in Lynn. I think thats their aim anyway.

I don't actually think I made a big deal of it, but if that's how you interpreted it, that's your perogative

Still if we keep this repartee up for the next twelve hours or so it's possible we might spread the word that there is actually a British U21 Final tomorrow, cos the BSPA as usual have shown their complete comtempt for young British riders.

There again that is very nearly matched by the almost complete lack of interest by EL fans, (you know the ones...they complain about the lack of British heat leaders in the EL league  )

I wouldn't hold your breath about getting bigger meetings Daniel, take it from me, after hearing it from the horses mouth, it's doubtful.

Wouldn't call him much of a Lynn specialist myself! And I would agree that he probably won't be good enough to get through but you never know. No doubt the cream will qualify (including Kennett as I can't see it being too grippy) with probably one surprise, quite possibly Ben Barker who rides Lynn well. Will you be attending Chris?

The problem we have now is that they have man made tracks so nobody has a chance of getting a GP now. Anyway could never see 50,000 at Kings Lynn. There arent that many big meetings in Britain at the moment anyway. Even the Pride Of The East isnt that strong a line up nowadays. I can remember having top danes Gundersen, Nielsen and Jan'o' all in the same meeting. Now they were good meetings. How come decent riders dont want to ride in this anymore.

i don't think a GP was anywhere near what shooting star was talking about ... i think it's more like the real big ones like the PLRC

and yes, the PotE were great meetings ... top riders with top racing ... never happen again all the time a GP exists.

the GP circus had robbed EVERY club of their 'big' individual meetings and being able to entice some top riders.

I was just using that as an example, as it doesnt matter what anyone is doing to there stadium, no one is gunna get a GP due to man made tracks. Cant see no reason why we cant have the PLRC at lynn tho

Just as a matter of interest, are any other forumers making the trip to the Norfolk Arena to watch this meeting tomorrow night?

hehe that's a great idea Daniel!!

I still think this will be one of the most hard fought meetings in the country this year, the young riders are all desparate to prove themselves and full of enthusiasm, good luck to them all!!
