OK then folks here's the line up :-

Edward Kennett. Lee Richardson. Dean Barker. Simon Stead. Oliver Allen. Joe Screen. David Norris. David Howe. Chris Harris. Garry Stead. Scott Nicholls. Andy Smith. Ricky Ashworth. Leigh Lanham. Paul Hurry. Chris Neath.

How do they get the line up, am really surprised no Mark Loram in this one.

Yes! Who does decide the riders that are seeded to the final?

and there is the question of no Chris Louis also! Or Havvy!

I'm sorry but how can this be classed as a National Championship?

As big a joke as the ELRC!

Well from an Ippo fan point of view....that's another meeting to not bother going to.

What was it - names out of a hat?!

shall be finding a better use for my time AND money that day then. Firstly they make fools of themselves over the situation with Moggo requesting not to be included in qualifiers, telling him he HAS to ride, and when he refused, refusing to let him ride at Stoke on the same night instead (once again the fans, including myself that night, are the ones to suffer) and now they appear to have completely ignored any kind of logical selection process for the meeting. If Chris, mark and Havvy were not going to be seeded through, then they should have been given the chance to qualify. End of.

I agree that Loram should be in there, but I believe Havvy and Louis didnt want to enter and I thought it was the same for Loram, but have heard different elsewhere.

Out of the line up that is left, Steady and Nicholls will surely be favourites and isnt it strange they meet in heat 20 ?

Dont agree with the semi--final - finals in these meeting, should be the straight 20 heats. Also believe one place should have been given to the British Unfer 21 Champion, Ben Wilson.

Just for fun, if these were the odds, who would you put a £10 on ?

4/1 = Edward Kennett.

7/4 - Lee Richardson.

6/1 = Dean Barker.

6/4 = Simon Stead.

10/1 = Oliver Allen.

5/2 = Joe Screen.

7/2 = David Norris.

5/1 = David Howe.

4/1 = Chris Harris.

10/1 = Garry Stead.

Ev - Scott Nicholls.

6/1 = Andy Smith.

12/1 = Ricky Ashworth.

8/1 = Leigh Lanham.

8/1 = Paul Hurry.

8/1 = Chris Neath.

If those were the odds, you'd be a fool to back anyone!

Simon Stead must have a great chance on his own patch, but I wouldn't take less than 4-1 about him in a 16 runner race!

I believe that our friend is betting to 324%... that even makes your GP odds looks generous!

think the line-up just about sums up how poor British speedway is if this is the British final

Dont know if anyone agrees, but I get the impression that whenever our top English boys move up a level, their bikes just dont seem to be as quick as the Aussies or Scandinavians. EG. When Nicki P moved from PL to EL, to GP level he suddenly seemed to have super fast equipment. Similar story with Lindback, but then again didnt he get some of T-Rick's castoffs?

I think many of our boys obviously have the talent, but dont quite seem to be able to keep on a par with the foreigners at the very top. Dont know if this is a sponsorship/money problem or what? But very fast equipment is essential, especially when you consider Olsen mainly prefers to prepare super slick tracks for the GPs.

Oh well, we will just have to wait a few more years for Bridger - but even he admitted on Sky the other night that he "can't gate".

Im with you my friend. But pricewise i would want half the field

say 7's or 8's to get me interested. But yes, he has an obvious

chance on his own patch. He's riding well enough.
