The quality of the line up doesn't really matter to me, if The VHM Meeting were to be held at Glasgow I would walk there with my Hackney Flag for Vic!

Well said Brian

Any idea what the format will be, number of heats etc...?

Twelve riders-well at least that what we had last year, plus I've only got twelve VHM race jackets- 15 heats, two semi's then a final.

In between Len's match race with Michael Lee, the ice bike really looking forward to that. If you've never seen real ice speedway this will be awesome. Col Smith's men on there Jap machines. These guys by the way are not the 'Men in Black'

As I said this is a serious meeting but there is a emphasise on a bit of fun and of course remembering Vic.

Oh! what to do, what to do, what to do?

It's roughly the same journey time for me to Rye and Eastbourne.

I've been to most Rye events this year but so far have not visited Eastbourne and just cannot make my mind up.

And miss the chance to see Len Slver & Michael Lee on a speedway bike again?

Got to be worth the admission price alone.

Len v Lee was good, with Len getting the win on the last bend

i decided to leave early tonight as i was tired, but the racing was very good

(i thought Hall and Powell were worth more than what they got tonight)

OK this meeting was far better than I was expecting.

Jason Lyons was brilliant and deserved his win although Chris neath pushed him all the way to the flag.

Just one point, according to the programme Brent Werner and Leigh Lanham raced the final in the wrong helmet colours and therefore started in the wrong gates?

I tried to find out last night but what are the rules in this situation

I have it as:

Winner of first semi (Brent) went into gate 3 on green, runner up in second semi (Lanham) went into gate 4 in yellow. Was this not the case?

According to the programme:

1st semi winner Red

1st semi second Green

2nd semi winner Blue

2nd semi second Yellow

which would make it

Red Jason Lyons

blue Brent Werner

Green Leigh Lanham

Yellow Chris Neath

The way they actually lined up was

Red Jason Lyons

Blue Leigh Lanham

Green Brent Werner

Yellow Chris Neath

:o:rolleyes:

Hmmm...after looking at the programme again, it seems you were right. When's the re-run?

I think Lyons would have won it off 15 metres to be honest, he was that good. Mind you, I'd have liked to see him miss a gate once, just to see :D
