Garry May

Recommended Posts

Good to see ex-Crayford Kestrel Garry May on the Isle of Wight last night, albeit he's now a tad over his former "racing weight!":wink::P

Name sounds familiar. Did he ride for Weymouth?

Thanks Steve. I think he might have done a few Swindon second halves too. The more I think about it the more I think I got his autograph once!

Well, you've shocked me. I've known Garry for quite a few years and never knew he used to ride. Learn something new every day on here :approve:

Any relation to Charlie May, the old Wembley and Southampton rider? I have a little niggle in my mind that Charlie is Garry's dad?

Or Dickie May could be Garry's dad

Richard May is the son of former Wembley rider Charlie May. I am fairly sure Garry May is not related to either of them.

Ah those memories of beating Barry Briggs at Swindon (twice) as the glorious Racers sped to the first (of many) wins at Swindon. And challenging Ronnie Moore for the Golden Helmet at Wimbledon.
