frigbo 514 Posted March 5, 2008 Bobbath, It certainly was my intention to web this lot, as well as Spreadsheets I have with the result and individual scores from every League match. Problem is I made a start but haven't had time to do any more. I'm more than willing to let someone take it on if they have the inclination.

Hi I'm the Vic Cross on your list. I was born on 7 February 1945 in Romford, Essex and I still live in the area (Hornchurch). I rode first for Boston Barracudas (1971-72) then moved to West Ham Bombers for a short time. Unfortunately lack of funds prevented me from pursuing my speedway career further. I then moved onto grass track then classic bike road racing, with which I had more success. I won the classic race of the year at Snetterton in 1987. I finally was forced to give up racing after a serious accident at Malory Park in 1990 (aged 45). But I'm still very involved with classic bikes and restoration. If you need any more information (I'm still in touch with some of my old race colleagues from the 70s) please get in touch. Best wishes Vic

speedyguy 20 Posted March 25, 2009 There was a Steve Collins riding second halfs at New Cross back in 1963.Wonder if this is the same rider who was doing second halfs at Wimbledon in the 70s? There was a Steve Collins who was a member of the late 1950s Chiswick Nomads' training school team. He could have been the 1960s second-half rider at New Cross. Not sure if he was the same guy as rode second-half at Wimbledon in 1970s though.

Problem is I made a start but haven't had time to do any more. I'm more than willing to let someone take it on if they have the inclination. g'day, I have been looking for this type of data without any luck. Any idea if their's anywhere thats got rider stats etc for all leagues, im interested in riders ive known of from Australia who have been known to have ridden in the UK. Id be willing to search through the history but I cant find anything/not much anyway and it doesnt help if I dont evan know which club or exact years. Their should be some record's and good luck with it. I'm only talking about from the early eighties onwards. All the best!

dirt 0 Posted May 28, 2009 cheers, thats a fair spread. Had a quick look and found plenty of info already. Only a couple of talented riders unaccounted for; maybe they rode conference league or none at all. As I've come to believe; a lot of the most talented riders dont make it to the top for whatever reason. namely: Matt Johnson, Brent Nott.
