Some more details about 80th Anniversary meeting :

 

Peter Craven & Peter Collins World Championship wining bikes on display.

 

Demonstration ride by Peter Collins.

 

Demonstration rides by Under 15's & Under 12's

 

Lots of ex Belle Vue riders parade on open top bus.

 

View racing from the back straight on open top bus.

 

John McGuiness will have his Honda Superbikes on Display.

 

Fairground attractions, face painting.

 

Timetable :

4.00pm Gates Open

 

6.00pm 9 races of past, current & future riders on JAP bikes, 6 at a time

 

7.00pm Grand Parade

 

7.30pm Peter Craven Memorial Trophy

Blimey didnt realise it would be such an early start, will have to duck of work early. should be able to get there for 6.

Has to be beforehand as main meeting is 20 heats plus other things happening.

Not seen the start time advertised much would expect this to be advertsied a lot in the next two weeks.

Turnstiles open at 5pm (at least that is what we have been asked to do) :rolleyes:

Thought it was 4pm.

 

Seems a bit strange opening the 'gates' at 4 but the 'turnstiles' at 5.

Definitely gates open at 4pm and turnstiles at 5pm (as confirmed with the man in charge :lol: ).

Apparently Hans Andersen is down to ride according to Mick Bratley (unless the Ban Stays), when was this agreed?

Hope he does ride.

But wasn't he meant to be riding for Peterborough that night against Coventry?

Why is Scott Nicholls not wearing the Coventry race jacket after all he is a Coventry asset and will be back there next year anyway.

Think Nick Simmons has a good claim to that. Its 5 minutes up the road from home!!!! :lol:

4.00pm Gates open (car park)….Face Painting…Balloon Man…..Circus Entertainer.

 

5.00pm Turnstiles open…..Vintage Bike Display and Special Museum Pieces Etc….Fairground Attractions.

 

6.00pm Demonstration Races:

 

* ’Blast from the Past JAP’s’

 

* ’Stars of the Future’

 

7.00pm The Grand Parade of BV Aces and Star Riders on an open top ‘No53’ Bus.

 

7.30pm Terry Stone & Peter Collins on 1928 Douglas Machines...Show us how it all started…..!!!

 

7.35pm The Peter Craven Memorial Trophy Heats 1 to 12

 

After Heat 12: Actor Jason Done to perform Celerity Ride….lives the dream..!!!

 

Heats 13 to 16.

 

After Heat 16: Demonstration ride by Peter Collins on his 1976 World Championship Bike

 

Heats 17 to 20

 

After Heat 20 (or run off) Presentation by Mrs Brenda Leat (Craven) at the Grandstand Start/Finish area
