Ashfield Classic 2008

Recommended Posts

The field has just been anounced for this year's classic , and quite interesting it is too . -

1 Trent Leverington ( Glasgow )

2 Tero Aarnio ( Berwick )

3 James Wright ( Swindon )

4 Rory Schlein ( Ipswich )

5 James Grieves ( Redcar )

6 Robert Ksiezak (Glasgow )

7 Carl Stonehewer ( Workington )

8 David Howe ( Wolverhampton )

9 Mikael Makovsky ( Berwick )

10 Tomas Topinka ( King's Lynn )

11 Paul Cooper ( Sheffield )

12 Shane Parker ( Glasgow )

13 Lee Dicken ( Glasgow )

14 Peter Juul ( Glasgow )

15 Mitchell Davey ( Glasgow )

16 Richard Hall ( Scunthorpe )

Referee is the Grand Monarch .

Interesting field with a few Ashfield specialists among the PL riders , and one or two top league boys as well . No Monarchs in the field as they are at Birmingham , but we do have a notable ex-Monarch in the shape of the Poo Boy and of course Jim McGregor is the referee .

Looking forward to see how 2009 Tiger Peter Juul does on his first competative action round the squaredome . Should be a great afternoon .

Just too add Glasgow have re-declared their 1-7 and have introduced Peter Juul in place of Josh Grajczonek for the remaining few meetings .

Quite a tasty looking lineup I must say ... Should be some good close racing hopefully. Cant see past Shane or Rory for this one. Cant wait to see Peter in action :)

Think several of these are in Berwick Bordernapolis Saturday as was announced: Makovsky, Aarnio, Schlein, Juul, Howe, Parker ?

Shocking..............................none of the 2008 Monarchs have been invited ;)

Do you not count Jim McGregor then

Can you give us a link to where it was announced EG? Like Paul I haven't seen anything about the line up for it on Saturday, to be honest I thought they had decided not to run it this Saturday and had maybe put it back

Looks like James Wright may have picked up a knock during Skys Monday night meeting. Will the Robins, who are already missing a couple of riders, be keen on him taking his place with the play off the following night

Why is that ? Does he want to buy me a pint then ?

Anyway since he hasn't rode Ashfield since his days with the Moaners it will be interesting to see how he goes . His battles with Mitchell Davey and Lee Dicken should be fascinating .
