The Swedish online auction site of Blocket does have some speedway bikes for sale, both 80cc and 500cc.

Gerhardsson Motor in Kumla is probably the biggest retailer of speedway products in Sweden.

Riddiculous!

The guys behind british speedway can't even realiase how succesful the Swedish & Danish youngsters are - because of their youth style leagues and championships the closest thing we have is the Under 15 championships & Academy league but both are 500cc's (except the U15's have 250s)

Just riddiculous - i know this has been discussed before, but surely they need to open their eyes and realiase that this system works - it gives the lads racing experiance and track craft too!:blink:

I have said it before, but it seem crazy that Britain seem to be going down this route with the speedway giants of Czecho and Germany in having this 250cc competition.50cc and 80cc route is a proven thing. But of course most tracks find it impossible to build an 80cc track,so they have to stick the kids out on a full sized track.Ürobably as usefull as what i have seen here in Germany of sticking kids on 50cc bikes on a full sized speedway track!!!!!!

not all Swedish 80cc tracks are standalone tracks. Some 80cc tracks like Brovallen in Avesta have their 80cc track inside the main 500cc track.

So possible some British tracks maybe could build 80cc tracks inside the main track?

One of the big issues is of course that the current 2-stroke 80cc engines will be banned in the near future and a replacement has to be found.

Hej!

That's three more than I knew of! :)

I knew of Mika, but I didn't know that Partanen and Hautala had switched from Indianerna. I knew that Västervik had applied for a Finnish rider, but had no idea about his name. Can't think of any other club that has a Finn in the squad, but Valsarna have two Norwegian riders in their squad; Thomas Gunnestad and Jesper Gjermandsen.

And here I thought you were the one to ask this about... Miikka Hyyryläinen is also been mentioned. He's from Lahti, the same as Nieminen and I think they were in Sweden during easter.

EDIT: It was a bit confusing to read the Svemo newsletter, when they were talking about a Finn for their "ungdomslaget". I thought this was big news, since no foreigners are allowed below Allsvenskan. Turned out to be more of an ordinary affair...
