I always recall the "Grand Fireworks Displays " after the last meeting of the meeting. Great fun in those days.

Brandon always staged a donkey race (“one lap, carrot start”) plus rider interviews and fireworks

I recall an end-of-season mechanics race at Wimbledon where the time was printed in the programme as hours ...... minutes ...... seconds......

Seem to recall that Dave Lanning was deposited in the well that was a feature of Arlington by the young "Eagles?'

Penny farthing at Eastbourne - around 1970 - one of the riders broke collar bone falling off.

The problem nowadays for many tracks is that with the play-off scenario you may not know which is going to be your last meeting.
