Gullible fool.

So we all imagined Pawlicki riding and winning in Poland then. If he was injured what was he doing riding in an individual meeting, and winning it?

No need to resort to calling names Steve.

But anyway, Shamek has 3 broken bones in his thumb, so we could have had a facility

Shhhhh... You don't want Matt Ford finding out that there are actually only 2 bones in the thumb, so he can't have broken 3 of them. The fingers have 3 bones, but the thumb has no middle phalanx and only has 2 bones.

Pawlicki had plenty of time to get 12 meetings in, they signed him in May!

The rule is the problem, Poole would have done exactly the same in that position.

Well you have, I'm not sure anyone else has ;)

Just to make it clear, Shamek didn't ride anywhere on the 16th September. The only individual he won around that time was on the 23rd September, AFTER making his comeback for Coventry.

Oppps. 3 breaks in his thumb. (plus he has two thumbs, thus 4 bones)

Yes, but you can't transfer one of the bones from one thumb into the other thumb just for the purpose of deliberately breaking it. (not after 31 August anyway).

It's bad enough watching Shovvy's blood pressure going through the roof with Fat Maud's allegations of average fiddling. You don't want to be accused of bone fiddling too.

It's funny that neither Matt Ford nor Peter Adams (also put pen to paper to moan about Pawlicki) can cite any rule-breaking.

Peter Adams neither mentioned, nor was questioned on, the Pawlicki situation in that piece. It was put to him that Adam Skornicki riding against Swindon gave Sqora a 12-match average, to possible future disadvantage, and his response was as outlined. I can understand people drawing an inference, but to say Adams "put pen to paper to moan about Pawlicki" is not the case. Unless he's done so elsewhere!

Sorry to say it Steve but you too are gullible if you believe Ford has grounds to stir it the way he has. He would have done exactly the same if the situation was reversed and you know it. It smacks of sour grapes and it's a shame he couldn't be a bit more dignified in defeat.

Rosco has done absolutely nothing wrong. The rules have not been broken. It's the job of a promoter/manager to use his/her skill to find those riders on silly averages and protect them if the chance becomes available to keep the average down.

Poole have played the averages game better than anyone over the years, which is why the club has a lot of jealous dislikers, we all wish our clubs were as efficient at doing it! This season, Coventry played it right at the right time and were deserved play off winners. Ford should have kept his mouth shut, it was bound to provoke this kind of response.

Many would say that Doyle made an amazingly quick recovery from his shoulder injury after Havvy didn't do as well as expected, it works both ways.

Unfortunately it always the same when Poole get out maneuvered by another EL side, Fords cacking it that Coventry will start next year with an advantage from the start with Pawlicki on a 4.00 when in reality he is a 7 pt rider.

Its just plain sour grapes.

2010 EL Champions - Coventry

2010 Runners Up - Poole

Absolutely correct. The arch-conman simple can't bear the thought of someone out conning him! Nice to see that Poole's little lapdog has woken up again!

2009- Joe Screen -misses Poole -v- Swindon match due to an aleged shoulder injury (and therby doesn't get a new average) -gets 15 point maximum in Denmark the next day.

Is there any more to be said? (apart from people who live in glass houses etc, etc,)

Can I just ask what meeting did Shamek ride in after the Swindon fixture?

After the Peterborough meeting he rode in Poland. But then was left out of the meeting at Swindon due to his "injury". Telegraphed from the moon of course, it was as clear to see as Barker laying sprawn on the track till the light came on.

An interesting column from Matt Ford in last nights Poole program.

"Finally, and most importantly, the last thing I want to do is rain on Coventrys celebration parade in 48 hours time at Brandon, but I would like to draw attention to the following important fact.

On September 13th, their key reserve Pawlicki was in fine fettle scoring 7 points in Bees semi-final first leg against Peterborough.

A week latter he was in the Bees side bagging another 5 rides at Peterborough in the playoff semi-final second leg.

However, in between these meetings, Coventry had a league meeting at Swindon on September 16th, a match that would have seen Pawlicki reach 12 meetings for an official average running after 11 meetings at 6.18.

This would have seen Pawlicki promoted into the Bees top five for both legs of the Playoff final and also providing his actual average for next year.

But here's the thing. Pawlicki suffed an injury preventing him from riding at Swindon. it ruled him unfit to ride at Swindon, but fit enough for the playoff meetings.

So he remained on an assessed 4 point average - and was avalable to drip feed the Coventry management to use at reserve for both legs of the final. Pawlicki scored 26 points compared to Sweetmans 6 over 30 heats.

Would it have been different had Pawlicki been inthe team with Sweetman at reerve? We will never know. But it would have been nice to have had the oportunity to face Bees in the right riing order.

All I know is I have had 5 fellow Elite Legue promoters contact me voicing their concerns over his inclusion at reserve. I'll leave you all to form your own opinions about how we feel over the whole matter."

END.

The fact that Pawlicki rode in POland (and won the meeting) but was too injured to ride for Coventry at Swindon looks like it's going to come back and bite him and Coventry on the bum. With 6 EL promoters far from happy with the manipulation that has taken place, and the fact that every rider has to have his average for 2011 rattified at the bSPA conference, it's not looking good for Pawlicki and Coventry teams building plans in 2011.

Parhaps Rosco made a mistake in saying that Pawlicki ws "injured and not fit to ride at Swindon". He was certainly fit enough to win an individual in Poland.

A Poole promoter moaning about average manipulation - you couldnt make it up!

Your number 8 can ride for ANYONE, ANYTIME. Nothing done wrong and completely legal.

Another rule that they will look into and change - then another manager will find another loophole to attempt to work in there favours.

Thems the rules.

Can't really be sour grapes if 5 other promoters have a problem with it as well....

Until those 5 promoters come out and say so its just all hot air .......

What did Peter Adams say? Is there a thread on it?

Besides the thread Adams was in the local paper saying that `we dont cheat at this club` in relation to Sqora`s new average. Im sure was an indirect response to the Pawlicki situation.

Usual sour grapes and whining from Matt Ford when he gets turned over.

You can drop a rider for your number 8 whenever you like. No rules broken, nothing to see here - move along!

Well i couldnt see what the issue was in the first place. Sore losers in Dorset.

And grace in defeat, sadly not all Poole fans have displayed such a quality.

Niamh

agreed.

Thanks for that. So Adams sees it the same way as Ford and 4 other promoters. Think this loophole will be well and truly sealed at the AGM.

I agree, its likely to be seeing as more managers have moaned about it.

However as in every season the ones who feel aggrieved vote against a rule that suits others.

Its a yearly thing.

It will be something different in 2012.

Was a formal investigation ever completed/reported in to the Madsen 'silencer-gate'

affair.

I assume he is being closely watched and that his 12 points over the 2 legs were legal

and above board.
