Rolling Averages

BSPA site has the new green sheet aves for May 1st onwards.

rolling averages have beeen used... the last 20 matches

so all teams have new aves in May

To prevent sudden large changes in CL averages the Rolling Average matches reduces gradually (to 20) during this season.

Last season's Green Sheets were based on up to 36 matches. To drop to 20 immediately would have wiped out almost half a season's stats.

May's RA is based on 30 matches and the figure will reduce by 2 matches each month.

What’s the rationale for using 20 meetings? Seems an arbitrary figure and doesn’t even reflect a season.

Fair enough. I was taking into account Shield matches.

Just a bit of a geeky one!

In the Sheffield / Ipswich meeting Lasse Bjerre was excluded for the crash with Cam Heeps in heat 3 and neither took any further part

For Lasse that means 1 ride 0 points

However Cam did not take a ride so does the meeting still form part of his rolling average total sample?
