Newport V Buxton

Recommended Posts

Please can any Waspies / Hornets tell me when the Hornets v Hitmen fixture is.

On the Newport website, it says May 2, with a Newport v USA Dream Team penned in for April 25, whereas on the BSPA site, it says the Hornets v Hitmen fixture is on April 25!!

Also, what time is tapes up and what is the entrance price?

Thanks guys.

NEWPORT SPEEDWAY OFFICIAL MEDIA RELEASE

HORNETS FACE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS IN A BANK HOLIDAY SPECIAL

The Newport Hornets face the reigning National League Champions the Buxton Hitmen in a Bank Holiday Monday fixture at Queensway Meadows with tapes up from 2.30pm

The Derbyshire side are spearheaded by the 2010 'National League Rider of the Year' Robert Branford and Ben Taylor who is returning to the sport after a year out with a complicated wrist injury. Not to forget their experienced skipper and one of the fastest starters in the sport - Adam Allott. However, the visitors also run two reserves John MacPhail and newcomer Ryan Blacklock who may find the Hornets reserve pairing of David Gough and Richard Andrews too hot to handle around Newport's 285-metre shale oval.

With the Hornets also tracking a strong top two in Jay Herne and Todd Kurtz then this intriguing contest may be settled in the middle order of each team with James White-Williams and Matthew Bates taking on ex-Hornet Luke Priest and veteran Dean Felton for the balance of the minor race places.

NEWPORT 'DRILLERMAN' HORNETS:

From: Richard Andrews, Matthew Bates, David Gough, Jay Herne (Captain), Todd Kurtz, James White-Williams, Tom Young

BUXTON HITMEN:

From: Adam Allott (Captain),Ryan Blacklock, Robert Branford, Dean Felton, John MacPhail, Luke Priest, Ben Taylor

Full club details on www.newportwasps.co with previews and scores also on the club hotline 09066 555 915 (calls charged at 60p per minute)
