This used to be such a prestigious meeting at one time. The annual pilgrimage to Hyde Road was one of the highlights of the year. The riders seemed to have more pride in those days and the old Belle Vue track always gave us some great racing.

How different it is now, year after year riders drop out, often at the last minute. This meeting has been completely devalued now, and they may as well scrap it altogether. In my opinion, of course.

Cant believe that anyone would want to go ! Riders pulling out, the ones that do ride dont bother once they get behind. A total waste of money. This meeting should be scrapped. I am convinced though that Darcy & Holder will turn up because they do want to take part. God bless those Aussie boys
