Ghostwalker 1,859 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) OK rollercoaster ride time...... 1. Great news above. 2. Uh oh how realistic or accurate is this report from Swedish Speedway News? "Threat: No television coverage of the Elitserien arenas Writer: John Wahlberg March 21, 2014 @ 18:09. Elitserien clubs have been in a conflict with the union and now it is very unclear whether C More, which has rights will be allowed into the stadiums in early 2014. The reason is that clubs may only take part in 800 000 of the 3.5 million that the agreement entails. - Svemo, we believe, confiscates the revenue we create by television broadcasts, said the chairman of ESS, Wolves Lars Berlin to SVT Sport. SVEMO Chairman Hakan Leeman, however, is satisfied with the distribution of money. - Yes, I think it looks fairly out. We have quite a large cost of running this business, and we have shown them how much costs we have to take this and that we have also divided the money that we consider reasonable, he says to SVT. A motion to Elitserien clubs shall have 80% of the money will be raised on SVEMO Federation meeting on April 12. But it remains to be seen what decision becomes." @MP I am pretty certain that there will be Swedish speedway on tv. If they would block TV from showing meetings the biggest looser would be the clubs themselves. I have written about this before so I'll see if I can find those posts. *edit here it is: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=75665&do=findComment&comment=2404618 As expected the clubs have backed off from their threat to stop C more from broadcasting from this years Elitserien. http://www.expressen.se/sport/motor/klubbarna-backar---stoppar-inte-c-more/ Edited April 23, 2014 by Ghostwalker

Ghostwalker 1,859 Posted April 23, 2014 That's a big relief, thanks for the news. Well perhaps a bit to fast? According to Norrtälje Tidning, the previous statement was "mis-interpreted". and the clubs previous demands still applies and no negotiation are taking place. http://norrteljetidning.se/sport/1.2464044-ingen-losning-i-tv-braket

Ghostwalker 1,859 Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) Hi Ghostwalker can you update on Bysarna? What is happening with the track at Hejdeby, is the for 80cc? will senior racing return to Gotland? Yeah the track is 80cc only, at the moment there is no plans to build a 500cc track as well since it's too expensive to build it and because is probably isn't economically possible to support a 500cc team at Gotland. I had a look around on their website but there aren't much info or pictures so don't know the actual status of the track. From what I have understand the club's members/volunteers have done almost all work themselves during the build process to keep the cost down. --- On a different matter: an interview with Anders Mellgren. http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/elitserien/anders-mellgren-jag-siktar-pa-en-comeback-i-ar/ Edited April 24, 2014 by Ghostwalker
