MD 1,307 Posted September 2, 2012 Definitely not the best meeting today but a win all the same. Sheffield petered out when the excellent Wells started to fade although the hard working Schramm at reserve featured in a few decent races. For once Josh was on the money after a relatively poor spell though Sitera was truely awful being beaten twice by McKinna. The reduced entry didn't temp the masses but did look better than previous weeks against not the most fancied opposition. Berwick next week in out final home PL match, then who knows after that! Aye not a pulsating cliff hanger , but enjoyable enough . Grajczonek was brilliant today , especially the race he sat behind Wright and kept Schramm behind him . Grievesy topped off a profitable 4 days with another superb display . Sheffield were well served by the EL Wells and Franc , when he gated . Hall and Skidmore were disappointing though . Not a huge improvement on the crowd as you say , but then Rangers were playing at Ibrox this afternoon .

Food for thought on admission prices. Hopefully the sale of the club goes through sooner rather than later. If the uncertainty continues into the winter our decent riders like Screen, Josh etc will look elsewhere for a home track in my opinion. Screen's programme notes today touched on the unknown future. There may also be the issue of a new promotion being an unknown quantity and riders being less willing to come. Hopefully we will have a positive outcome soon. I think whatever the outcome of the sale of the club turns out to be , any Glasgow 2013 side will bare little resemblance to the one we watched today . Forgot to say , respect to the dozen or so Sheffield fans stood on the back straight today . Your club is having the same sort of disappointing season we are , so to travel all that way to support your club ,in what was basically a meaningless fixture , deserves a lot of praise . Well done guys .
